This past Friday, Shalom Hospice had the joy of hosting a hymn sing at NHC Holston! 🎶

With special guest piano player Joe Grimm, owner of Mountain Mortuary Services, was gracious enough to come play the piano as our Community liaison, Jared lead the singing. We spent the afternoon singing beloved old hymns that brought back so many wonderful memories.

It was a beautiful time filled with music, smiles, and sweet moments shared with the residents at Holston. đź’›

They tried to silence a people, and the story became one of the most joyful holidays in history. Purim reminds us how Queen Esther’s courage turned fear into celebration and how even the darkest moments can be transformed by faith, bravery, and community. It is a powerful reminder that hope can rewrite any chapter.

Wishing you a Purim filled with joy, warmth, and togetherness. đź’ś

A day full of education, collaboration, and meaningful conversation with Senior Care Advisor Helen Porter, CTRS, CADDCT! 🧠✨ Helen hosted an incredible training for Knoxville’s senior industry leaders to complete the CDP certification, diving deeper into dementia, its impact, and best practices for caring for those living with the disease with compassion and dignity.

Shalom Hospice was proud to partner with Oasis Senior Advisors to host this event and support continued education for our Knoxville senior care community. Together, we’re committed to serving patients and families with knowledge, empathy, and excellence. 💙

It’s normal to feel relief, sadness, gratitude, and exhaustion — sometimes all at once.
There’s no “right” way to feel when someone you love is facing serious illness.

What a wonderful afternoon at The Pointe at Lifespring! 🩵

Our Community Liaison, Whitney, and Nurse Case Manager, Acacia, had the pleasure of educating the Lifespring staff on hospice and how we can collaborate to best serve residents on their care journey. Partnerships like this are key to providing compassionate, high-quality care every day! 👏🏻

Plus, who doesn’t love some yummy pizza and treats?! 🍕🍪 Thank you to the fabulous Lifespring team for all you do to serve our seniors!

We had a wonderful time at Beaver Dam Baptist Church during the Senior Lunch this week!

Jared and Whitney were honored to speak with such a warm and engaged group. Jared shared an overview of what hospice care is, explaining how it supports patients and families through comfort-focused care, dignity, and quality of life. He also opened the floor for questions, leading to a thoughtful discussion about senior care in general — from understanding care options to knowing when to ask for additional support.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect, educate, and serve our senior community. Thank you to everyone at Beaver Dam Baptist Church for the invitation and for the meaningful conversation! 💙

We are so grateful to Brookdale Brown’s Creek for inviting Shalom Hospice to take part in this year’s Resident Appreciation Week!

It was truly an honor to celebrate such wonderful residents and show our appreciation by bringing donuts to share. The joy, smiles, and sense of community made the afternoon extra special.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of such a wonderful community. We appreciate all that you do for your residents each and every day! 💛🍩

This morning, Shalom Hospice was honored to participate in the National Day of Prayer at the Spring Arbor (formerly Dominion Senior Living of Sevierville) prayer breakfast. 🤍
We are grateful for the time of reflection, community, and shared faith, and for the opportunity to pray alongside so many compassionate hearts. Thank you to Spring Arbor for hosting such a meaningful gathering as we continue to serve with hope, love, and purpose.

We work with families from all walks of life — different beliefs, backgrounds, and stories.

One thing they all share is the desire for peace and support.

What does “peace” mean to you during difficult seasons?

Hi! I'm Pam a RNCM with Shalom Hospice of Greater Knoxville. I’m originally from Pennsylvania. I've lived the last 11 years in Florida. I’m now blessed to be here in beautiful Tennessee. Most of my career I spent working at a level one trauma center. The last six years I spent working in hospice. I am honored to be part of the Shalom staff.
