Thank you Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine and The Suffolk County Legislature for hosting the 4th Annual Irish American Heritage Celebration on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Special thanks to Suffolk County Legislator, Ninth District, Samuel Gonzalez for honoring our beloved founder Georgia J. Grant as Irish American of The Year in Suffolk County.
Mrs. Georgia J. Grant was posthumously awarded the Proclamation by Samuel Gonzalez, acknowledging her Irish heritage and her devotion to the Suffolk County community. In her honor, the award was accepted by her daughter, Alison Grant Casey, and her grandsons, Logan R. Casey, Kevin P. Grant and Liam G. Lyons. Her family proudly stood in her honor and celebrated along side all of the honorees.
Michael J. Grant was also awarded as the Distinguished Honoree which was presented by County Executive, Ed Romaine. Kevin P. Grant stood in place of his father and graciously accepted the award.
Congratulations to all of the honorees and thank you very much to all who celebrated. We want to extend our gratitude to the Hibernian Festival Singers and The Suffolk County Police Officers Emerald Society Pipe Band for their outstanding performances.
We are extremely thankful and proud! 🇮🇪

Michael J. Grant Funeral Homes, Brentwood, New York, is honored to care for their beloved founder, Mrs.Georgia J. Grant, just as she compassionately cared for so many families for more than 70 years.

Visitation Services will be held at the Brentwood funeral home as follows:
• Saturday, December 20, 2025
Evening visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 PM
• Sunday, December 21, 2025
Afternoon visitation from 2:00 – 4:00 PM
Evening visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 PM
An evening wake service will be led by Father Martin.

The family invites you to join them on Monday, December 22, 2025, for Closing Prayers at 9:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by a procession to Sacred Heart Chapel, Building 3, Community of St. Joseph, located at 1725 Brentwood Road, Brentwood, NY 11717.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Stan and Father Martin.

Ms. Grant will be laid to eternal rest with her loving husband, Michael J. Grant, at Long Island National Cemetery.
