As we know, life has its many ups, downs, and all the in between. Often we try to pull ourselves up and out of the darkness; and most times we are successful. Other times, we become overwhelmed. It is during such times seeking help maybe a healthy option to consider. Attending therapy can be intimidating. It’s one of the more intimate activities you will engage in. Of course, how could it not be;
you walk into a room with a complete stranger, expecting to discuss in great detail your inner thoughts, emotions, & current stressors. For therapy to work, it’s important you feel safe, welcomed & confident in your therapist. I can be that therapist for you. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), specializing in individual, children, adolescent, adult, and family therapy. I have provided mental health services since 2010. I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling with an option in Marriage Family Therapy through California State University, East Bay and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, East Bay. I have extensive experience working in private practice settings and as a Crisis School Counselor at a local public high school and a K-8 private school. I will provide you & your family a warm, nurturing environment where you can begin to address your needs without fear of judgement or ridicule as we begin your journey toward healing. Including my work with Adults, I specialize in working with children & teens (emotional, behavioral, social & academic struggles). Using my training, I can help you begin to explore, gain insight, understanding of emotions & needs. I can help you learn healthy communication practices while setting safe boundaries. Therapeutic modalities I often practice are: client centered, strength based, mindfulness, solution focused & CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Through giving yourself the gift of therapy, you can embrace acceptance, growth, hope & bring forth healing in your daily living.
