We are wrapping up the month of love with one of the sweetest videos💖🌙

There’s something timeless about love expressed through music, and this moment says it all. Music has a way of helping us say what’s in our hearts, bringing forward memories, emotions, and words that might otherwise feel just out of reach. When familiar lyrics are personalized, they become even more meaningful, turning a classic song into a heartfelt message.

At Musical Bridges, we believe love sounds different for everyone. Sometimes it’s a grand gesture, and sometimes it’s a familiar melody rewritten from the heart 🎶

Fact of the Week 🎶

We’re continuing our series with a fact researched and put together by one of our amazing high school volunteers. We love seeing our students advocate for the field of music therapy!

The Fact:
Music therapy first gained recognition in the 1940s as a way to support soldiers experiencing physical and emotional trauma. Since then, the field has continued to grow as research expands, awareness increases, and more individuals experience the benefits of music therapy firsthand.

Today, there are over 25,000+ music therapists employed across the U.S., and that number is expected to exceed 26,000 in 2026!

Music therapy continues to make a powerful impact. 🎵

Drop a 🎶 if you’re excited to see the field growing!

We celebrated Valentine’s Day the slow and snuggly way 🦥💕

Today, we sang about calming our bodies while giving our sloth friend a tight squeeze, using deep pressure, gentle melodies, and a whole lot of Valentine’s love to support regulation and connection. Sometimes the sweetest way to say “I love you” is by helping your body feel safe and supported 💞

At Musical Bridges, we intentionally weave music therapy goals into everyday moments so that the skills practiced in session don’t stay there, but instead come home with you and become part of your daily routines 💫🎶

Curious how music therapy can support you or your family? Reach out to get started!💜

Swinging + singing = a perfect match 💘 The rhythmic movement of a swing provides vestibular input to support regulation.

As we sing about things that go together, the swing helps bodies feel calm and ready to engage ❤️🎶

So grateful to Music Therapy Joy for this incredible song!

At Musical Bridges, we intentionally connect music therapy goals to real-life routines so the skills practiced in session carry over into everyday moments.

Because progress doesn’t stop when the music does 💙🎵

Curious how music therapy can support you or your child? We’d love to connect. Reach out to get started!

All you need is LOVE ❤️🎶

This Valentine’s Day, we’re using the song “LOVE” to support bilateral movement by engaging both sides of the brain through rhythm, repetition, and connection.

At Musical Bridges, we intentionally connect music therapy goals to everyday routines to help clients build skills they can use beyond the session.

We are currently looking for talented individuals to help steer our future. If you have experience in Marketing or Event Planning, we have Board Member openings waiting for you. We are also looking for General Volunteers to assist with various clinic duties.

Whether you have a few hours a week or a professional skill to share, we’d love to have you. Visit the link in our bio to see how you can join the team!

Big news! 🌟 We are currently looking for families to join us in an exciting research study with Vanderbilt University Hands-On Play Lab! 🥁

We are exploring how learning to drum can support the development of children with Down syndrome. We are looking for participants who are aged 7-12 (or will be turning 7 very soon!) to join this journey.

What’s involved?
-2 fun in-lab visits to the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center.
-8 weeks of FREE drumming lessons (16 lessons)! 🎶
-A non-invasive look at brain activity using EEG.
-Families receive a $50 gift card after each lab visit ($100 total).

Where can you drum? 📍 Lessons are available at any of our MusicalBridges locations: ✅ Brentwood ✅ Murfreesboro ✅ Hendersonville ✅ Columbia

We are looking to onboard participants immediately to get enough children to help this research project succeed. Even if your child isn't in the age group, please SHARE this with any families, schools, or groups you know!

How to get started: 📧 Email: vuhandsonplaylab@gmail.com 📞 Call/Text: (615) 343-1079 🔗 Or scan the QR code in the flyer!

Let’s drum up some discovery! 🥁✨

Cold-weather learning can be meaningful and engaging! 🧤❄️

Using winter clothing visuals paired with music, this activity targets academic skills and activities of daily living by helping the client identify what clothing is appropriate to wear when it’s cold outside. Connecting learning to real-life experiences, especially after Tennessee's recent snow and ice, supports comprehension, decision-making, and functional independence!

At Musical Bridges, we intentionally connect music therapy goals to everyday routines to help clients build skills they can use beyond the session.
