Whitehall, a suburb just outside of Pittsburgh, is where the St. Moritz story began -- and it will always be an important part of Phil St. Moritz’s legacy.
We are proud to share that the Estate of Phil St. Moritz has donated $150,000 to the Whitehall Fire Department in honor of Phil’s lifelong commitment to giving back.
Bill Ball, executor of Phil’s estate, and Brian Fiscus, CFO of the St. Moritz Group of Companies, presented the donation to the department’s leadership. This gift supports the department’s mission to protect life, property, and the community. It also reflects Phil’s deep appreciation for the people and organizations that help make communities stronger, safer, and more connected.
As part of this meaningful donation, the Whitehall Fire Company dedicated The Phil St. Moritz Memorial Meeting Room in his honor. This dedication is a lasting tribute to Phil’s generosity, his belief in service, and his commitment to supporting the places where we live and work.
Phil founded St. Moritz Building Services in Whitehall in 1968, followed by St. Moritz Security Services, Inc. in 1982. More than five decades later, his legacy continues through the companies he built and through the many lives and organizations touched by his generosity.
To the members of the Whitehall Fire Department: thank you for your courage, dedication, and service to the community. We are grateful for all you do and proud to honor Phil’s memory in the place where it all began.
