Autonomous vacuums are quickly making a home for themselves in the commercial cleaning space. These are machines are far from “robots” and take a lot of planning and programming to effectively implement in to a program.

They are not here to replace cleaners, but to complement our existing staff and deliver a more efficient, effective and cleaner experience for our customers.

St. Moritz not only maintains daily cleaning to all of our clients but also provides specialty project services to meet the complex demands of commercial buildings including hard floor restoration, carpet cleaning, and range of other project assignments.

Marry Ann Gold was recognized in May for her outstanding service and commitment to her job.

Marry Ann is a Union Employee represented by SEIU 32BJ in downtown Pittsburgh, and next spring will have met the threshold for 50 consecutive years servicing the same building boasting a seniority date back to 1975, making her one of the most tenured union employees in the city.

When asked, Marry Ann has no plans to retire anytime soon, and we are happy to have her on board as long as wishes.

Did you know today was National Donut Day? We celebrate donut day throughout the year, holding regular tenant appreciation events in our buildings throughout our portfolio. Today we thank all of our tenants, without you St. Moritz Building Services would not exist. We hope to see you with a donut in hand soon!

Allegheny College celebrated the groundbreaking of The Phil St. Moritz Center for Innovation this spring. Phil St. Moritz, our founder, was a proud alumni of Allegheny college, earning is Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1957.

The new Center for Innovation represents Allegheny’s long-standing academic excellence that embodies a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning.

This project will be funded through the estate of Phil St. Moritz, as well as the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), and other donors.

Today we want to take some time to recognize Jeremy Kail (pictured center) from our Pittsburgh operations team. Jeremy brings over 25 years of experience in the commercial cleaning industry with extensive experience in commercial floor restoration.

Jeremy’s story with St. Moritz dates back to 2005 - in his current role, Jeremy manages a large portfolio of commercial office space while overseeing a demanding and exhaustive list of specialty projects within the greater Pittsburgh area.

Jeremy is a tenacious, hardworking and incredibly reliable asset to our team, characterizing and exemplifying values that satisfy our commitment to our client satisfaction.

Introducing Meryl Sweep, our newest employee and first official installation of a robotic commercial vacuum cleaner. Meryl is a “Whiz” model from Soft Bank Robotics and we are thrilled to have it get to work. Each night Meryl will spend around 7 hours vacuuming, covering over 30,000 square feet.

Today we are giving a shout out of appreciation to John Bynum, a member of our Pittsburgh operations team.

John joined St. Moritz in early 2019 as a member of our regional coverage team. Not long after, he was promoted to a lead position at a large customer property in Pittsburgh’s west corridor. He went on to take on several leadership positions in the area over the years before most recently being promoted to Daylight Operations Coordinator, dispatching our daily coverage teams throughout the greater Pittsburgh area.
