About me ....
Way back in the 1990’s I found my calling as massage therapist and a yoga teacher. My natural healing intuitive abilities along with my sincere desire to help others greatly enhance my work in this field for over 20 years.
Over the last 15 years, I use my yoga and meditation practices to improve relationships, to elevate my mood, and to stay centered and healthy. Right now I also use yoga and meditation to help me deal with the speed and distraction of news and other technology that separates me from nature and from personal connection with people. I am so glad I get to help provide that personal connection for others with therapeutic massage and with yoga instruction.
I have taught in several St Louis yoga studios that are all wonderful communities. I now teach at Brentwood Center of Health, which is a wholistic physical therapy center. I am honored to be a part of a team of professionals along with Shawn Tucker ( with his wife Suzanne founder of the Center) offering orhopedic re-hab, tai chi, chi gong, chiropractic, re-ahb personal training, massage therapy ( me) and yoga therapeutics ( me) and nutritional counseling.
I have been practicing yoga and meditation formally for almost three decades and experienced it as it evolves. I am drawn to both the ancient teachings and the current science of yoga/ meditation. I have trained with Desiree Rumbaugh in her “ Wisdom warriors : yoga for over 50” trainings. I also completed a 300 hr training (2014-2016) with Noah Maze and his amazing faculty. I went “back to school” at A Gathering Place Massage Therapy School 2016-17 to complete and accomplish the requirements for the Missouri Massage Therapy License. Since the early 1990’s I have been enrolled in many schools, programs and courses to expand my ability to practice massage therapy and to teach yoga. These include: Philips School of Massage, Nevada City CA, Myofascial Release trainings with John Barnes 150 hours) Neuromuscular Therapy training with Judith Walker ( St John) , Anusara Yoga (Affiliate/ Inspired status 2001-20012) White Lotus yoga teacher training, Santa Barbara and many more intensives, and weekend courses. I currently am also deeply enriched through the teachings and guidance of my meditation teacher, Sally Kempton.
I hope to meet you or one of your friends or family members. My family has been touched by the St Louis yoga community as Mitch, my husband and I met in a yoga class taught by Chris Yonker at Big Bend Yoga Center. On the day before my daughter was born, I donated sun salute yoga teaching at a big fund-raiser in St louis. I enjoyed offering “with” my soon to be daughter. After a period of cutely following me around and enjoying yoga, she had been in big resistance to it until just recently she has come back to yoga as a means to complete her splits in dance class! I am glad to help meet everyone on their unique path on and off the mat in and out of yoga interest.
