We received a warm reception and support today from the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy, where we appeared alongside our partners at the Tennessee Pharmacy Recovery Network (TPRN) to present data on professional use of our screening tool.

The Tennessee Professional Screening Questionnaire (TN-PSQ) was launched in 2020 for served by the TMF and a year ago, pharmacy professionals gained access. This is a quick, free, voluntary, anonymous online screening resource with the option for further help and referrals ONLY IF REQUESTED. So next steps are completely up to the user.

Mental health conditions are easier to treat when they are addressed sooner, rather than later. We shared that 90% of pharmacists, techs, and trainees who have taken the questionnaire were not already receiving help elsewhere - indicating these mental health struggles have not yet progressed to the point that a TPRN referral is necessary.

We feel like we are reaching our goal, we just need to reach more Tennessee health professionals and pharmacists. Please help by sharing this post and the link to the TN-PSQ: https://tn.providerwellness.org. Thank you!

Galen Medical Group, with locations in greater Chattanooga and North Georgia, states that its mission is to "elevate the health of our community..." and we want to thank Galen for including the health of physicians and other clinicians in that mission. Their support for the TMF has been impactful, allowing us to respond to nearly 100 new referrals and assist more than 260 through our Professional Health Program (PHP) this year.

Happy Friday! We are so pleased to share about another important partnership that has raised awareness about the importance of help-seeking and the resources available to struggling clinicians. The Tennessee Osteopathic Medical Association has been generous with its partnership in our work and mission to support Tennessee physicians and other clinicians. We exhibit at TOMA's annual meetings to share about our work to assist and other battling substance use, mental or behavioral health conditions, cognitive issues, burnout, and more. We are deeply grateful and privileged to have partners like the Medical Foundation of Chattanooga, established by the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society in 1986 to serve both the medical profession and the community. Learning is happening today for some 4th year students at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. TMF Medical Director Dr. Michael Baron just wrapped up an online Capstone lecture on Professionalism, discussing the link between personal health and wellbeing and good medicine, the difference between illness and impairment, as well as boundaries, dos, and do-nots for future doctors. Thank you to UTHSC for the chance to bring attention to these topics!

We want to begin the year with overdue appreciation: Bristol Regional Medical Center-Ballad Health has partnered with the TMF since 1993 and we are so thankful for this longtime relationship. Their support has helped us respond to Tennessee and other on their worst day, amid personal struggles with substance use, mental and behavioral health conditions, and offer hope, healing, and support along the way. Thank you to Bristol Regional Medical Center and its leaders for joining us again to stand in the gap for our state's healthcare heroes!
