Have you heard of Teepa Snow’s Positive Physical Approach (PPA)? 💜
PPA is a 6–9 step method created to help caregivers respectfully approach and connect with individuals living with dementia. It’s designed to reduce agitation and build mutual understanding and comfort.
This approach was developed with the knowledge that a person living with dementia experiences the world very differently than someone with a healthy brain. By adjusting how we interact, we can make communication more effective and compassionate.
At Touching Hearts at Home, we train our caregivers in PPA to ensure every interaction is rooted in empathy, patience, and dignity.

Petworthy offers heartfelt therapy dog visits that bring warmth, comfort, and joy—perfectly complementing the compassionate care Touching Hearts at Home clients receive.
Led by a registered nurse and two certified therapy dogs, Petworthy delivers safe, meaningful visits right to their clients’ homes or care facilities—lifting spirits, easing loneliness, and filling hearts with unconditional love.
After each visit, families receive a personalized “pup”date with a sweet photo and any special messages from their loved one. It’s more than pet therapy—it’s a moment of joy and connection.

Touching Hearts at Home of Middle Tennessee is committed to helping older adults, seniors, and people with disabilities enhance their quality of life and remain at home as long as possible.
Touching Hearts at Home is locally owned and operated, combining the experience of owners, Bryan and Haley Johnson, with the resources of a National Home Care company that has been providing non-medical companionship, caregiving, and homemaking services to older adults, seniors, and adults with disabilities since 1996.
Bryan and Haley have lived in Middle Tennessee their entire lives and are dedicated to setting the standards of excellence in the industry. They are driven by a love for people that was passed down to them by their parents and grandparents. Integrity, compassion, and kindness are at the HEART of their business. They set the standard by bringing quality care, safety, and companionship to the lives of their clients.
The Johnson’s are invested in their Caregivers and provide a strong foundation of support through communication, education, and appreciation. They value the people they serve and those who serve alongside them.
