Sometimes hospice care is music, movement and a miniature therapy horse 🐴

Elaria is our 18-year-old pediatric hospice patient whose wish was to experience the freedom horses represent to her. While her medical needs prevent her from leaving home, her care team Torrance, CA, found a way to bring that joy safely to her.

From playing the keyboard to dancing together, this moment reminded us that hospice care is about honoring the whole person — their heart, spirit and dreams. At Providence at Home with Compassus, compassion means meeting patients where they are.

Our Compassus hospice team in Payson, AZ, was honored to partner with Messinger Payson Funeral Home and the Rim Country Hospice Foundation for the annual "Celebration of Life" event.

This community gathering brought families and friends together to remember loved ones through music, dinner, candle lighting and reflection. It was open to anyone in the community who had experienced loss—not only those served by Compassus.
