At Compassus, we are committed to giving back to the communities we serve.

During our recent National Leadership Summit and President's Circle Awards in San Antonio, TX, over 280 leaders from across the country joined forces for a team-building exercise with a heartfelt purpose: assembling bicycles for children in need 🚴‍♀️

The bikes were donated to SJRC Texas & Belong, a local nonprofit supporting vulnerable children and families. Senior Vice President of Development Cynthia Lopez at SJRC Texas shared, “These bikes are providing them normalcy. They’re providing them everyday childhood experiences that every child deserves.”

It was an honor to partner with SJRC Texas to help create meaningful childhood memories and make a positive impact locally.

This National Volunteer Month, we celebrate those who give their time to make a difference.

At Compassus, the We Honor Veterans program builds life-changing connections like the bond between veterans Michael Barrentine, our hospice volunteer, and Irving Levine, our hospice patient, in Evansville, IN. Despite decades between them, their shared service created a deep friendship rooted in respect and understanding.

When Irving turned 104, Michael ensured the milestone was celebrated. He helped to secure a City of Evansville proclamation declaring February 4 “Sergeant Irving Levine Day.”
