We’re thrilled to welcome Purplplace as the newest member of the Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce! A dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit based right here in Brevard, NC, PurplPlace is doing truly meaningful work—focusing on the holistic health needs of women by addressing trauma, depression, anxiety, disordered eating, and more.

What makes PurplPlace special? Their integrated team of personal trainers, nutritionists, consultants, and mental health counselors all work under one roof to offer affordable, compassionate care that supports women’s wellness from every angle.

I am the first one to admit that I’m addicted to my phone! It gives such immediate gratification with all the sounds, lights, information etc . There is so much research directly correlating cell phone usage ( especially in teens) with high anxiety rates and depression. Why does it cause anxiety ? It affects the brain and serotonin, dopamine levels . Also , it gives a false sense of authenticity. We see bits and pieces of others lives and not the whole picture. Everyone is searching for “ wholeness and meaning” and for awhile the phone satisfies this search .. ..
