May all the days ahead be Merry and Bright!

Here’s a hug for the new year.

Not the loud kind.
Not the rushed kind.
Just a quiet, gentle hug for everything you carried through this year.

For the days you were tired but kept going.
For the nights you held on longer than you thought you could.
For the moments you survived in silence.

As 2025 fades and 2026 begins, may you move forward softly.
May life meet you with kindness.
May your heart feel a little lighter than before.

You don’t need big resolutions.
Just peace.
Just warmth.
Just the reminder that you made it.

May the new year be gentle and kind to you. 🤍

Love this! I often have people stare at me in public and I think, do I have toilet paper stuck to my shoe….I don’t know why they’re looking at me so, I just smile. So often, they come to talk with me about my hair. Let’s get something straight right now, I do not love being white headed at 60 years old, it makes me feel old. I have massive allergy issues that have caused multiple trips to Boston to try to get them under control, so to knock down my chemical load, no hair dye for me. I get tons of questions about how I transitioned to grey, who colors my hair, if you can think of a grey hair related question, someone out in the world has asked it of me. I still show up in my dreams with brown hair. It’s crazy! So, while I’ve put this topic out there happy to answer questions if you are considering joining the no more dye club. 😬

Beautiful advice!!!

Beautiful advice!!!

December is National Giving Month, a time to celebrate compassion, generosity, and the simple acts of kindness that strengthen our communities. Dr. Maya Angelou believed deeply in the power of giving — not only materially, but also with love, time, attention, and care.

In her poem “Continue,” she reminds us: “Continue to be who and how you are, To astonish a mean world, With your acts of kindness”

Her words call us to recognize that giving is not limited to grand gestures. It lives in how we show up for others, how we speak life into one another, and how we carry hope into the spaces that need it most.

This month, we honor every person who gives — formally or quietly, publicly or behind the scenes. Your generosity uplifts, restores, and reminds us that we are more alike than unalike.

May we continue to give with open hearts and open hands, just as Dr. Angelou taught.

Yum!!

About Me

Welcome to LifebyLis! My name is Lisa Dunning, I am a Wellness Warrior and a Holistic Health Practitioner with a strong passion for healing and teaching and let’s not forget fun. I love sharing all of the tools in my tool-belt to help put my family, friends and clients in the driver seat of their own health and wellness path.

My wellness journey began in 1995, when one of my children had a severe allergy that countless trips to the allergist, testing and money could not diagnose. Fed-up, I started to keep a food journal of everything that he ingested. After a family birthday party that featured Elmo and lots of red punch, frosting, lollipops and such, I finally discovered that Cory had a red food dye allergy. I knew that nutrition was important we ate lots of fruits and vegetables and kept sweet treats to a minimum but had no idea what real impact that food could have on your health. I was told to give my child Benadryl to help with the symptoms that we was experiencing so you can imagine my anger when I read the label and learned that the very thing that he was allergic to was in the medicine that he had been prescribed. My label reading adventure began and my curiosity about health and wellness was ignited.

I have spent many years filling my tool-belt with tools that I have found useful in my own health challenges and have shared with friends and family along the way. I studied at Global College of Natural Medicine to earn a bachelors degree in holistic health. I became a Reiki Master over a decade ago and practice Reiki daily. Other tools include AromaTouch massage, Essential Oils, Emotional Freedom Technique, Tai Chi, Lifestyle Coach, and so much more.

My family and friends are the most important thing in my life and I truly treasure each member of this “tribe” that I walk on this path with everyday! Come and join me on this path to wellness and let’s have some fun along the way.
