Another reason to have a wisdom tooth removed preventively. This patient is in his 60s who has this impacted wisdom tooth covered with tartar (black/ brown in the picture). The tartar is filled with bacterial colonies that causes inflammation and bone breakdown. Just because the wisdom tooth is asymptomatic, does not mean it's not problematic. Get your wisdom teeth evaluated by an oral surgeon!!!

Ridge split case. Patient presented with inadequate bony width for implant placement at sites #18 and 19. A ridge split was performed utilizing piezo surgery and chisels. I try to place implants at time of split to prevent collapse of the split bony segment, however there was poor initial implant stability. A bone graft was then placed and site covered with membrane and PRF. primary closure with PTFE sutures. Pre and post ct as last slide. Will come back in 6 months for implants.

Patient was referred for evaluation and treatment of maxillary sinus communication (1st picture, black arrows). The sinus was cleaned out. A triple layer closure was performed with PRF (2nd picture, navy blue arrow), buccal fat pad (2nd picture, light blue arrow, and 3rd picture), and buccal gingiva/mucosa flap (4th picture). Primary closure is key in preventing the fistula from recurring.

Patient presented with a Varix on lower lip. She expressed how bothersome and self conscious it made her feel. I excised the lesion and cauterized the vein responsible for this lesion. The surgical site was then closed meticulously. Happy patient = happy doctor. This procedure was done in office with just local anesthesia.
