Today is PA Millis' last day to see patients as he is retiring. 30 years of patient care, averaging 6,000 patients a year... estimating 180,000 cases he has cared for and those patients he has loved. The 21 years spent in the military serving the country he loves with 2 deployments. The mission trips to Mexico and Honduras. Thank you, Mike, for your service to God, country and mankind.

A reminder: call or have your prescription refill requests faxed in before December 28th. Office hours are limited w8th the approaching holidays.
Last in clinic office appointments are Friday the 17th, Tuesday 21st, Weds morning 22nd and Thursday morning 23rd. The clinic will be closed the afternoon of December 23rd and all day December 24th.
Telehealth visits, when possible, will take place December 27-29. not our picture.

But nurses will be available to take calls and give injections.

Re: Pending Retirement

It is with a heavy and humble heart that I announce my pending retirement from medical practice on 1 January 2022. Current and ongoing health issues have unfortunately kept me from providing the quality care I believe my patients deserve while allowing me enough time to fully recover from the long term effects of the COVID virus. We have no future plans after retirement at this time, other than working more with our church family, visiting grandkids more often, and enjoying the farm with our cows, goats, chickens, and other various varmints. We hope and pray that our patients, staff and colleagues have been blessed as we have by working together over the past many years. After 30 years of practice it will be a difficult but necessary transition, but we hope to see many of our current friends/patients as simply friends well into the future.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to follow up with my supervising physician, Dr David Ray or his other midlevel provider, Nurse Practitioner Alex Pendergrass in the Family Clinic. Alternatively, Dr Jon Copeland and PA Rusty Tanner (a fellow Air Force retiree like myself) can certainly handle whatever medical needs you may have.

A NOTE FROM PA MILLIS

COVID IS BACK and I know a lot of people are not interested in the vaccine, but PLEASE consider getting vaccinated soon. We lost a lot of people with the first wave and we're starting to see the second wave now since school is fixing to start. In medicine, you either figure out a way to kill an infection, or you find a way to prevent it. We have no "kill" medicines yet, although we have a lot more options on reducing the virulence after you're sick. And in infectious disease, there are only a few ways to prevent infection. The most potent is vaccination. (We got wild smallpox OFF THE PLANET in the 20th century, and we've almost got Polio eradicated now as well. All, 100% because of effective vaccination programs.)
If you had the COVID-19 virus or got the vaccine, you can still get infected again. It's rare but possible. If you want to know what your risks are before getting vaccinated or revaccinated come talk to us about getting an antibody titer test. These are the chemicals that prevent infection. They can now test for the S protein from COVID-19, which can give us an idea how susceptible you are to infection. Of course nothing is foolproof, but this is the best way of judging your level of risk at this time.
