Good Morning TMRS Community,
Today is the Rememberance of the day our Lord and Savior rode in, humbly on a donkey into Jerusalem.
What He did was spoken in the Old Testament, prophesied by the prophet(story, TESTimony) found in the book of Zechariah 9:9
"Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a c**t, the foal of a donkey".
It was called " The Triumphant Entry" and the people shouted " Hosanna Hosanna," which ment " Save Us".
Hmm, but here's the thing.
They were shouting and PRAISING the Messiah that day. Throwing palms at him, clapping and singing His praises 👏🏽. Should be joyous...right?
But what about Yeshua(Jesus)? Do you think He was happy? All those faces smiling, crying, praising Him. Calling Hom King of the Jews Who has come to saved them.
Yes, He was and is King, yes He came to fulfill the Scriptures, yes He came to save them...however, NOT in the way thier human minds were thinking. Uhh, He came to save them by dying hmmph, through thier betrayal the following week.
Phewww.
So Community, as we acknowledge what today represents, let us truly reflect on these scriptures that speak of His entry: Matthew 21:1-11, Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:28-44, and John 12:12-19; and let us remember that Yeshua(Jesus) was looking at the faced that once honored , praised, healed by Him and ate with Him sadly were the same people soon after shouting " CRUCIFY HIM!" , murder Him.
Selah(pause).
Mm, so is the ficalness of people, the crowd, those that sing your praises put you on a pedastal one day...and cast you down in a blink of an eye the next.
So as you remember one of the events that led to our Lord and Saviors crucifiction, try to see it through His eyes. Being Sovereign, Lord, God in the flesh, just knowing those that were cheering Him , would be the same to hiss, spit and want Him dead.
We can learn alot about this event.
1. When your calling is high, expect adversity and betrayals.
2. Be careful to not get sunken into the cheers and applause of people.
3. Eyes focused on the Father Who has created you for a purpose and His good pleasure .
Amen
Always Transforming and Being Renewed,
Naty McD
