Today we wrapped up Nursing Home Week with a full day of Hawaiian‑themed fun, laughter, and celebration.

This morning, our residents enjoyed glamorous photo sessions complete with crowns, boas, scarves, sparkling jewelry, makeup, and tiaras. Everyone also received beautiful flower leis and light‑up flower headbands to set the tone for the festivities.

This afternoon, we continued the celebration with a Hawaiian party featuring piña coladas, snacks, and a showing of Blue Hawaii starring Elvis Presley. Staff joined in for photos, and the energy throughout the building was nothing short of joyful.

To end the day, our residents spent time outdoors potting flowers generously provided by Bridgeport High School — a perfect way to welcome the season and close out a wonderful week.

We are grateful for our residents, families, staff, and community partners who make moments like these possible. Mahalo for helping us celebrate in style.

This afternoon, Cascades at Skyview hosted a lovely Mother’s Day Tea for our residents and their families. Guests enjoyed iced tea, lemonade, and delicious strawberry‑lemonade snacks while spending quality time together. Sons and daughters gathered to celebrate the special women in their lives, and the smiles and kind words made the event truly meaningful. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and delighted that our residents had such a wonderful time.

Donation Request for Glamour shots & National Nursing Home Week.
May 11 - 15

We are gathering a few items to help make our upcoming nursing home week extra special for our resident. If you are able to donate or lend any of the followeing, it would be greatly appreciated:

Glamour Shots (Men & Women)

* Hats (all Styles)
*Crowns or tiaras*Boas
* Fancy or fun accessories (jewelry, scarves, bow ties, suspenters, etc)
*Cute or decrotive props for photos

Activity Equipment Needed

*Snow cone machine (to borrow)
*Electric ice cream maker (to borrow)
