Surgery has a 2 to 5 year failure rate.... why?
No one looks at anything beyond the actual surgery itself.
Key factors that will play a huge role in your pelvic organ prolapse (POP)... IN ANY DIRECTION!
Well first. Has someone closed you out of the open-birth position? That is π― π and the first thing we do.
Next....
1. Pelvic tensionπ
Pelvic tension can cause the prolapse symptoms to be worse. What are prolapse symptoms?
π Leakage
π Constipation
π Heaviness
π Pain
All of these things have to be addressed and managed... to be able to move on π
2. Pressure management π
This is the π for all of your exercises.
Test: place your hand on your belly.... cough.
What happens to your belly??
Does it go down and out? Or up and in?
If down and out... we need to retrain the pelvic floor muscles to be REACTIVE and pull up and in.
Catch 22. If you have tension.... you will never be able to get this down!
3. YOUR FEET π¦Άπ£
Your feet... and specifically your big toe are the ultimate π to your prolapse progression, maintenence, and understanding.
Yes, we know. It sounds crazy... but its true.
If your therapist has not addressed your π¦Ά... find one that will!
4. Functional strength πͺ
Strength is great... BUT if you are doing exercises that are counterproductive to your pelvic floor... or not functional (aka you still struggle getting off the floor)... you need to pivot you exercises! Again, if the above hasn't been addressed.... you will be spinning your wheels!
Now π let's be real. Sometimes surgery is indicated!! We don't waste your time!
The benefits... we can teach you surgery prep and the initial rehab afterwards!
Once again... 2 to 5 year failure rate... why? No one addresses the above!
Do yourself a favor... find answers, get results, and be able to live the rest of your life without fear of your v@g falling out!
