A cataract is when your eye's natural lens becomes cloudy. Proteins in your lens break down and cause things to look blurry, hazy or less colorful.

A most common complaint amongst patients who are developing cataracts is being extra sensitive to light especially with on-coming headlights when driving at night time.

What to Do for a Fireworks Eye Injury:
Firework-related eye injuries can combine blunt force trauma, heat burns and chemical exposure. If an eye injury from fireworks occurs, it should be considered a medical emergency.
Seek medical attention immediately.
Do not rub your eyes.
Do not rinse your eyes.
Do not apply pressure.
Do not remove any objects that are stuck in the eye.

Due to the recent FDA recall on certain eye drops we would like our patients to know the OPTASE PRODUCTS SOLD AT THE EYE GROUP OF CONNECTICUT ARE SAFE!

The eye drops in question are very different in terms of composition and delivery system compared to what the SCOPE Optase range is offering.

Any product applied to the eye must be sterile to prevent intraocular infections. Bacterial contamination during use is prevented by either preservatives or specially designed dispensers as part of preservative free systems, which keep the contents sterile.
