It was a great night at the ballpark on Friday for RWJ Somerset’s night at the Somerset Patriots. Employees, physicians and volunteers enjoyed the game and fireworks sponsored by RWJ Somerset. Mary Snyder, a registered pharmacist who has worked at RWJ Somerset for 25 years, threw out one of the game’s ceremonial first pitches. Deirdre Blaus, Chief Administrative Officer, was interviewed during the Patriots’ radio broadcast.

Congratulations to Dr. Manisha Patel and Kara Yi, P.A. who were recognized today by RWJ Somerset's Medical Staff as Physician and Advanced Practice Provider of the Quarter.

Dr. Patel is a nephrologist who has been part of the hospital's medical staff since 1996. Her colleagues recognized her for being available 24/7 to care for our patients, particularly for her support during the COVID-19 pandemic. "She was always there. She provides 24-hour care, is hard-working and will answer all questions from patients, physicians and staff. She is remarkable."

Kara is a Physician Assistant and infectious disease provider. She was honored for being an "excellent diagnostician" who is well-respected by her peers and is recognized by patients for her empathy. Her colleagues also noted that she is proactive in discharge planning and treatment plans.

Thank you Dr. Patel and Kara for choosing to practice at RWJ Somerset and helping us provide the best care to our community!
