We’re thrilled to welcome Kristi of Knot Myself Crochet back to BRC this week after she joined us for BRC Fest—and loved it enough to return for yesterday's Farmer’s Market!

While she’s usually set up as a regular retail spot, Kristi has quickly discovered what makes BRC special: the warm welcome from our residents and team members. In just a week, she’s already felt the kindness and connection that makes this community shine.

Her work is seriously adorable—you’ll want to stop by her table to see her playful, handmade creations up close. We’re so happy to have her here!

🚨 Social Media? Never heard of her. We’ve been a little MIA here because, well... we’ve been busy having a blast.

This past week was a whirlwind!
✅ We kicked things off with the launch of our brand-new team internal communication platform
🎉 Then we rolled right into BRC Fest—our annual team celebration, reimagined as a two-day campus-wide festival for everyone to enjoy
⚾ And we wrapped it all up with the wiffle ball game to end all wiffle ball games: Team Leaders vs. the All-Star Players from our just-finished season (no egos were bruised… maybe)

Given our team has been a bit tied up with these wholesome shenanigans, we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled social programming next week. Until then… stay cool out there 😎

🧀 If you blinked, you may have missed it—Brenda’s homemade pimento cheese flew off the table at our farmer's market this morning! Also sold at Bridgewater IGA, her creamy, flavorful spread made its market debut with a bang, and she sold out fast. Pro tip: come early next month if you want a tub (or three) of the good stuff! 😋

🍅🥕🫑 Our first Farmer’s Market of the season was a hit! Vendors were busy all morning, and we loved seeing our resident woodworkers showcase their craftsmanship. A huge shout-out to Matthew from our maintenance team whose voice added so much heart to the event. 🎸🧡

Last week, we celebrated the generous donation of a beautiful baby grand piano with a heartfelt dedication concert in its honor.

The gift came from Dr. Wallace and Jean Holthaus, longtime BRC residents and lifelong music lovers. Both took piano lessons and shared a deep appreciation for the arts—an appreciation now shared with our entire community through this incredible gift.

The idea took root when residents inquired about purchasing a piano. After discussions with our Resident Association, the Holthauses graciously offered to donate their own piano—turning a dream into a reality.

The dedication, planned by Joyce Nolen, featured beautiful performances by Mary Kay Adams, Miriam Clark, Joyce and Carole Grove, Judy Henneberger, Joyce Nolen, and Wil Nolen.

With this gift, the Holthauses have filled our space with the sound of music—and our hearts with gratitude. 💙🎹
