🌊⛵️Meet Our NEW Nurse Practitioner! ⛵️🌊

Rachel Malloy is a PNCB board certified pediatric nurse practitioner with over a decade’s worth of experience working in hospital settings caring for pediatric and geriatric populations. Rachel earned her BSN and MSN from Seton Hall University and prior to joining our Brielle Pediatrics team she served as an APN in pediatric palliative care.

“There is efficacy in listening to parents' concerns, they know their child better than anyone!”
Through her patient, comprehensive, communicative approach - Rachel seamlessly reinforces our standards of excellence when it comes to pediatric care.

As a doting mother and a loving wife with a passion for traveling, baking and gardening, Rachel emphasizes the importance of practical, nourishing daily routines for optimal health in her life and in the lives of her patients. “What you put into your body is what you get out of it. For our children’s wellness, I appreciate having the opportunity to share knowledge and celebrate the value, joy and medicine that stems from the simplicity and effectiveness of healthy eating habits, exercise and quality sleep.”

🍉🌊☀️🕶️ Stay Cool 🕶️☀️🌊🍉

Staying cool in the summer months is a full time job- but someone has to do it! Here are some basic tips for keeping our kids safe in the heat:

☀️ If possible, opt for indoor activities for a portion of the hottest part of the day, generally between 10 AM and 4 PM.

🕶️ Wear breathable, fast drying, lightly colored, sun protective clothing, hats and sunglasses. (Pro Tip- if your kids are playing outside, get their clothes wet to help pull heat away from the body.)

🌊 Stay hydrated with water and electrolytes- coconut water is a fantastic, low-sugar, dye-free option!

🍉 Eat food with high water content like cucumbers, tomatoes and watermelon.

🌊 Teach your kids how to cool off by applying cold water, ice cubes or cool compresses to pulse points on the neck, wrists, elbows, knees and ankles.

☀️ Most importantly, know the signs, the differences between heat exhaustion and heat stroke and when to seek medical attention! Swipe left to see a great infographic.

🛟🌊 You are your child’s LIFEGUARD 🌊🛟

Temperatures are rising and summer is quickly approaching! YAY! Before school lets out and our kids go running to the nearest body of water- as loving caregivers living in beach adjacent communities, we must work overtime to practice and impart water safety practices early and often.

🌊🛟 No LIFEGUARD? No Swimming!
Make it a rule that your children understand and follow. Even when a lifeguard is on duty at a pool, lake or beach, an adult should always be present and designated as a the “water watcher,”- giving focus to nothing else but watching their children.

🌊🛟 Create a NO PHONE policy when kids are near the water - Drowning happens quickly and quietly. Answering a quick text, checking that notification, responding to an email- just don’t. Nothing is more important, nothing is more urgent than keeping your kids safe around water.

🌊🛟 Educate yourself and your children about weather, rip currents and tides - In the words of , , “Know before you go!” Rip currents account for 80% of ocean rescues. Learn, educate and stay vigilant about the ways of the ocean. Here is a video for kids to learn more about what to do if caught in rip current.

🌊🛟 Never leave children unattended near water — even for a moment. This includes bathtubs, kiddie pools & buckets.�
🌊 🛟 Always stay within arm’s reach — "Touch supervision" is key for children under 5.�
🌊 🛟 Empty all water containers immediately after use. Toddlers can drown in as little as 1 inch of water.�
🌊🛟 Install pool fences with self-latching gates if you have a home pool.�
🌊🛟 Skip floaties as a substitute for supervision — they can create a false sense of security.�
🌊🛟 Start swim lessons early — Many children can begin before age 1, depending on readiness. (We love ) �
🌊🛟 Learn infant & child CPR — knowing what to do can save a life.

Drowning is preventable and YOU are your child’s best lifeguard. ❤️🌊🛟 Let’s keep our little ones safe and healthy this summer!

Earning an Associates in Early Childhood Education from Brookdale Community College and her Medical Assistant Certification from the American Institute, Cami brings a depth of knowledge, experience and a personality that has easily made Brielle Pediatrics a lighter, brighter, more fun place to be over the last handful of years. As a Medical Assistant, Cami has an effortless way of blending her sweet sense of humor with a conscientious attention to detail that puts both parents and patients at ease.

Nurse Nikki is a AANP board certified nurse practitioner with a focus on family medicine. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Seton Hall University of Science in Nursing from Walden University. With nearly a decade of experience working in hospitals with patients aged from infancy to adulthood, Nikki applies a holistic approach to medicine that incorporates all aspects of well being to help patients access optimal health outcomes.

Nikki is a patient listener, a solution oriented, thorough practitioner who possesses a practical approach to pediatrics. With her warm, caring presence, Nurse Nikki has a genuine ability to put parents and patients at ease with her natural capacity to interpret and simplify complex issues.

Dr. Joshua Wolpert, MD, FAAP

Dr. Wolpert is a board certified pediatrician who has been in practice almost 20 years. Dr. Wolpert graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency training at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Wolpert is married with two daughters and two step children.
