I can’t believe it has already been 1 whole year of business for Ward Massage! I am so thankful to each one of you for your support in the growth of the business. I thought I would take this opportunity to answer some frequently asked questions, and make some comments of my own.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY:
If you need your pressure adjusted just ask! It is not going to hurt any feelings or make things uncomfortable. It is YOUR massage and YOUR time, I want to be sure you are getting the most out of the experience.
We can have a conversation, or you can remain quiet - this is up to your personal preference. It is okay if you fall asleep, and yes - even if you snore! You don’t have to lay completely still during the massage, your comfort is my top priority and you can shift positions (and scratch and itch) as needed.
All shapes and sizes are welcome, this is a NO JUDGEMENT ZONE. You can get as undressed as you feel comfortable, your private areas will remain covered for the duration of the massage. If there are specific areas that bother you to be touched, just let me know and I will avoid them! Express any discomfort at any time.
Body hair does not bother me! If you have a non-contagious skin condition, this is also nothing to be worried about!
If you need the air temperature adjusted or an additional blanket/pillow/bolster, just let me know! I can accommodate almost any need.
My building is wheelchair accessible.
There are tissues in the room, if you get runny or congested (this is quite common).
If you are sick, you don’t want your massage. I know you think it will make you feel better and more relaxed, but it is actually likely to make your symptoms WORSE!
Water is going to be extremely important after your massage, ESPECIALLY if we did deep tissue or lymphatic drainage; but drink extra water either way. If you have muscle soreness after your massage (normal with deep tissue), taking an epsom salt bath can help ease some of your discomfort. I basically gave your muscles a workout, without you having to do anything! Soreness should only last 1-2 days.
Come unwind and temporarily escape from the world. If there are any additional questions I would be more than happy to answer them in the comments and/or feel free to text or call me at 801-388-1437. Happy Summer!
