Today is World Alzheimer’s Day – a reminder of the importance of brain health. But did you know that hearing plays a role? Here’s what the research tells us:

👂 The ears collect sound, but it’s the brain that makes sense of it.
🔊 When hearing loss is left untreated, the brain has to work harder — leading to listening fatigue.
🧩 Hearing loss is recognized as one of the most significant modifiable risk factors for dementia.
💡 Taking care of your hearing supports long-term brain health.

Let’s raise awareness for both ears and minds today by sharing their connection with others. 💜

This week our team came together for our annual company meeting! 💛 Many of our team members presented on topics centered around walking in someone else’s shoes, practicing kindness, and finding ways to support one another so that everything runs smoothly—not only for our team but also for the patients we serve. 🤝✨👟

We also spent time on a service project and connecting outside of our day-to-day work. It was a meaningful opportunity to strengthen relationships, share ideas, and reaffirm our shared commitment to both our patients and our community. 🤝🩵

✨ Fun Fact Friday ✨
Did you know that falls account for 67% of ER visits among adults 65+—and are the leading cause of injury-related deaths in this age group?

👂 Hearing loss can play a big role in fall risk. When hearing is affected, it can impact balance, spatial awareness, and overall independence—making everyday activities more challenging.

The good news? Addressing hearing loss early can help support better balance, confidence, and safety. 💪

🌿 With National Wellness Month ending, it’s a great reminder that hearing health plays a vital role in overall wellness. Taking care of your ears helps protect your brain, maintain social connections, and improve quality of life.

Here are some ways to keep your hearing healthy:
• 👂 Limit exposure to loud sounds – Use ear protection at concerts, sporting events, or when mowing the lawn.
• 🎧 Keep volume in check – Follow the 60/60 rule: listen at no more than 60% volume for no more than 60 minutes at a time.
• 💤 Give your ears regular breaks – Quiet moments help your auditory system recover.
• 🧠 Stay socially active – Conversations stimulate your brain and support cognitive health.
• 🥦 Support overall health – Good nutrition, exercise, and managing blood pressure can positively affect hearing.

Healthy hearing is part of living well—your ears deserve the same attention as the rest of your wellness routine.
