Building fun and building skills!

Our OT sessions are full of creativity stacking, connecting, and designing with all sorts of materials to help strengthen fine motor skills. Every tower and masterpiece is more than play, it's practice for coordination, strength, and independence!

Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our miniature horse, Star. Our hearts are heavy, yet full of gratitude for the love and healing she gave to so many friends who came through our barn.

Star touched lives in the simplest but most meaningful ways — from her playful escapes and gentle nudges for treats, to the quiet moments she stood patiently, helping others find comfort and confidence in therapy. She truly lived up to her name, shining just as bright as a Star.

Thank you all for loving her alongside us. Our Star will forever sparkle in our memories and in the hearts of those she helped heal.

Of course, as most of you know, I make it a policy that I can only complain about one season because otherwise it’s just absurd (and we all KNOW the Season Who Shall Not Be Named).

That being said, I can't say that everyone else around me, quadrupeds included, is as amicable to Florida's impression of living in Dante's Sweaty Under Pants. 😳🤣

◻️ Improved Core Strength and Stability◻️

Sitting on a horse activates core muscles continuously. The horse's movement mimics the human walking pattern, helping clients improve posture, trunk control, and overall stability- especially important for kids with low muscle tone or developmental delays.

Today, we pause to remember.

On this Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom. Their courage echoes through the generations, and their sacrifice is never forgotten.

As we reflect, we think of symbols like Black Jack—the riderless horse with boots reversed in the stirrups—a silent yet powerful reminder of those who will never return. He walked in honor of countless heroes, and today, so do we.

Take a moment. Say a prayer. Fly your flag. And never forget.
