Help keep the Brighton community safe! Support Drug Take Back Day and bring all unneeded and/or expired Rx meds to the Michigan State Police Brighton Post for proper disposal this Saturday from 10am-2pm. Find more drop off locations and info at www.DEATakeBack.com Turning in all expired or unneeded prescription drug (such as Oxycodone) on Drug Take Back Day is the safest and most environmentally responsible way to dispose of them and prevent their misuse.Never flush drugs down the toilet. According to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, “studies have found that medicines flushed down the drain can contaminate our lakes and streams, which can hurt fish and other aquatic wildlife, and end up in our drinking water. Some medications interfere with the reproduction and normal growth of frogs and fish and other aquatic species. Flushing medications down a toilet or drain allows them to enter the wastewater treatment system. Many treatment systems are not designed to remove medications.

The drug overdose epidemic in the United States is a clear and present public health, public safety, and national security threat. DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day reflects DEA’s commitment to Americans’ safety and health, encouraging the public to remove unneeded medications fro...

If you have a job that requires you to sit at a desk for long periods of time without moving around, you may be experiencing “the sitting paradox.” Learn how you can incorporate movement into your day to make yourself more productive and feeling your best.

The "Sitting Paradox" is that while our jobs often require intense mental focus, the physical act of staying still may be harming the very brain-power we need to perform. The good news? You don’t need to quit your job to save your brain; you just need to change the way you move.

Women’s History Month: Celebrating a Founder Who Helped Build IEP
During , we’re proud to recognize Dr. Christine Morrison, one of the founding members of Independent Emergency Physicians.

Twenty-nine years ago, Christine and ten colleagues took a bold step. They chose to leave the security of traditional employment and build something different — a physician-owned, physician-led practice with a simple purpose: taking care of the patient by taking care of the provider.

It was a risk, a vision, and a bold decision that became Independent Emergency Physicians. Today IEP has grown to 450+ providers, caring for hundreds of thousands of patients each year across hospitals and urgent care centers.

Christine continues to be an active physician partner in the group she helped build. Her leadership helped shape the culture that defines IEP today: clinical excellence, physician partnership, and a deep commitment to patients and the communities we serve.

Today we celebrate Dr Morrison for the courage it took to build something new – and something lasting.
