New profile picture and a little peek into spring 🌱

Weddings, slow dinners, sweet company, and sunshine on my face…

Moments that felt like deep inhales.

And somehow it all brings me back to birth.
The slowness. The sacred. The celebration.
The way life keeps moving and unfolding.

I’m so grateful I get to be a doula. To witness beginnings, support transformations,
and be reminded again and again how beautiful this life really is. šŸ’›

Pregnancy and birth are filled with moments of quiet beauty and profound blessings. From feeling the soft flutter of tiny kicks to learning the art of surrender and trust in your body, this journey is nothing short of sacred. It’s a time to slow down, connect deeply with the life growing within, and embrace the transformation unfolding in your heart and soul.

I’m reminded of the privilege it is to carry and bring forth life a journey that teaches patience, strength, and unconditional love. What a gift it is to walk this path. ✨

Knitting my first sweater has me reflecting on the connection between this craft and the journey of birth. Every stitch feels intentional, a small but vital piece of the bigger picture, much like every contraction, breath, and moment during labor. There’s no way to rush the process without losing its beauty. It’s a rhythm you have to trust, surrendering to the pace and knowing that, over time, something remarkable is being created.

Knitting teaches patience and presence. If you focus too much on the end result, you miss the meditative magic of the process. And in birth, when you lean into the moment instead of fighting it, you allow the natural flow to guide you. Both are reminders that beautiful things take time and effort, but they’re worth every second.

I can’t help but think of the women I support. Labor is its own art form, messy, unpredictable, yet stunningly perfect in its imperfection. Just like this sweater, it’s made with love, dedication, and trust in the process. In both knitting and birth, there’s a sense of satisfaction when you see what your effort and patience have brought to life.

2024 has been a wild year šŸŽ¢

When I decided to move back to Philly, I was scared my business would flop or that it would take me years to build it back up. But I jumped in head first and set out to continue my dream of being a doula and supporting women in pregnancy and birth.
Being a doula has given me so much confidence and perspective, it’s taught me to speak up, to continue to ask questions, to learn from others and to ultimately trust myself. I am so beyond grateful to the women who invited me into their lives and allowed me the opportunity to support them in birth. Cheers to another year of women, babies, birth and beauty!

Just like your body is intelligent, your baby is too. šŸ’•

During labor, your baby isn’t just waiting, he or she is actively working with you. From releasing hormones to help labor start, to instinctively rotating and descending, your baby knows what to do. Learning about how your baby is part of the process can ease your mind and help you trust the beautiful design of birth.

You and your baby are a team. Trust it!

A doula can’t save you from your birth, but she can walk alongside you every step of the way, offering support, comfort, and encouragement ✨

As a doula, my role isn’t to change or control the birth process but to hold space for you—helping you embrace the waves of labor, reminding you of your strength when things get intense, and creating a safe, calm environment where you can surrender to the process. I’m here to help you trust your journey, whatever it looks like.

It’s an honor to witness the power of birth and to support women in one of the most transformative moments of their lives. Being a doula is truly the greatest gift, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to stand by your side as you bring new life into the world. šŸŒ¼šŸ¤

I’ve learned SO much over these past 4 years as a birth doula! And these are just a few of the things but man oh man every birth teaches me something new ✨ I can’t believe that this is my job, I literally get to witness miracles every day.

Even the most challenging births, with unexpected outcomes, I’m encouraged by women’s strength and resilience.

Birth plans! Ever heard of them?! šŸ˜‚

Birth plans get a bad rep but they’re really just a way to set a baseline so everyone involved is on the same page. Some midwives I work with changed the idea of ā€œbirth plansā€ to ā€œbirth hopes and dreams,ā€ which can be a better way to go into your birth!

If I were planning an unmedicated birth, my focus would be on creating a calm, supportive space—starting with my favorite playlist to help me stay grounded. I’d make sure everyone knows my goal for no medication, but also remind them that flexibility is key.

It’s not about controlling every moment but about making sure my wishes are known and respected, with room for whatever the birth journey brings.

Birth is not broken. Read it again. Birth is not broken! Your body and your baby are beautifully designed for birth. There’s nothing to fix, nothing to meddle with and nothing to fear. Birth is not an illness or disease. Birth is a beautiful right of passage that leads us closer to the divine. When we trust that nature didn’t make a mistake, birth looks very different. Birth is beautiful, intimate and transformative.

Thank you for making these sweatshirts to support access to doula support!

Most medicalized births echo a deeper narrative, a narrative of societal pressures and shortcomings that overshadow the innate wisdom of women’s bodies. BUT it’s not our bodies that are failing us, often times it’s that we prioritize convenience over empowerment and intervention over intuition.

When we stop asking questions, when we fear , when we don’t know our options, and when we don’t educate ourselves on the beauty of our bodies design, birth can often become highly managed.

But there is hope! Over the past few months, I’ve noticed a shift. There’s a movement fueled in the belief that birth is a sacred journey to be honored. Together, we can reclaim our birth experiences and challenge the status quo!
