At Brighton Marine, we are proud to support Veterans on their journeys.

One of our former Veteran residents, who is now permanently housed, shared her reflections on her time in our Veterans Housing community and the support she received along the way.

Her story is a reminder of the power of community, compassion, and the dedicated people who work every day to serve those who served.

We have great news for US Family Health Plan of Southern New England members! As our provider network continues to expand, we are thrilled to announce a new provider network agreement with Southcoast Health Network, significantly expanding access to high-quality primary and hospital care for our members across southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

For our members this means:
-Approximately 160 more primary care providers within the USFHP network
-Inpatient and outpatient hospital access at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Saint Luke’s Hospital, and Tobey Hospital
-A comprehensive regional health system known for its high-quality clinical care and strong community presence

Neil Mullaney, President of USFHP of Southern New England shared, “This is a significant advancement for our plan and for the military families we serve. This agreement strengthens access in a meaningful way, preserves continuity for families who value these providers, and reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality care close to home.”

Tonight, we celebrate one of our own.

Please join us in congratulating Derrick Hassell, Director of Maintenance at Brighton Marine, on being recognized at this evening’s Black Excellence Awards in Boston, The Massachusetts Black and Latino legislative caucus.

For nearly five decades, Derrick has quietly and faithfully cared for our people, or veterans, and our campus: the homes, the hallways, the spaces where healing happens and where Veterans and military-connected families rebuild their lives. Long before headlines or ceremonies, Derrick was doing the work.

He began here as a teenager. He built a career here. And he has helped build Brighton Marine into what it is today.

When we renamed one of our Veterans living communities in his honor, it was because his legacy is literally part of the foundation of this place. Tonight’s recognition affirms what we have known for years: Derrick represents excellence not only in his craft, but in his character.

Derrick, we are so proud of you. And, we are grateful.
