Earlier this year, we had the privilege of celebrating a true Brighton Marine milestone.

Derrick Hassell, our longest-serving team member, has devoted more than 47 years to supporting Veterans and building the sense of community that defines our mission. From his first days as a teen employee to his role as Director of Facilities & Maintenance, Derrick’s leadership has left an indelible mark.

In his honor, we rededicated Building 9, our Veterans housing building, as The Derrick Hassell Veterans Living Community—a permanent reminder of his dedication and service.

Congratulations to the Allston Brighton Chamber of Commerce on being an AB Fund Award recipient! The AB Fund supports their scholarship program, which provides financial assistance to residents pursuing post-secondary education.

Brighton Marine administers the AB Fund, supporting programs that enhance the health and well-being of Allston-Brighton residents. This initiative is made possible through a Community Development Agreement between the Brighton Allston Improvement Association (BAIA) and Clear Channel, which has provided more than $300,000 in funding to local nonprofits since 2020.

Through these scholarships, the Chamber is investing in the future of the Allston-Brighton community by empowering individuals to achieve their educational and career goals.
