On Tuesday, City Council recognized Dr. Ron G. Fair and Dr. Rodney D. Fair with a proclamation for their many years of service to Brighton.

According to the proclamation, Dr. Ron G. Fair was awarded his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1954, and after serving four years in the United States Army, he moved his family to Brighton in 1959 to begin his optometry practice. Dr. Rodney “Rod” Fair, a proud Brighton High School alumnus, was awarded his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry and, in 1983, joined his father in practice, continuing the family’s dedication to exceptional service.

Dr. Ron Fair faithfully served the residents of Brighton for more than five decades before retiring in 2011 at the age of 80, and he will celebrate his 96th birthday in January 2026. Dr. Rod Fair has carried forward the Fair family’s tradition of excellence in eye care and community commitment and will retire in April 2026 at the age of 70.

Thank you Dr. Ron Fair and Dr. Rod Fair for your extraordinary service and remarkable 67-year legacy of care to the Brighton community!
