🌞 Behavioral activation might sound like a big word, but it’s really about one simple thing: doing more of what lifts us up. 💛

For children and teens, this can make a huge difference in their mood and mental health. When we’re feeling low or stuck, our brains often tell us to withdraw—but doing small, positive actions can gently shift that cycle. 🌀✨

Some powerful ways to activate joy and connection: 🌿 Spending time outside in nature
🚲 Moving our bodies—dancing, walking, riding bikes
👯‍♂️ Being around friends and family
🎨 Doing something creative or hands-on

These activities might seem small, but they send our brains powerful messages: I’m safe, I’m connected, I can feel good again. 🌈

Let’s help our kids build habits that nurture their mental and emotional wellness from the inside out. 💪

💭 Nightmares vs. Sleep Terrors 💭

Did you know that 75% of kids experience nightmares, with many facing them for over six months? 😨 Nightmares can be linked to anxiety, PTSD, medications, or life stress—but sometimes, they just happen. Frequent or distressing nightmares shouldn’t be ignored, as they can signal deeper mental health concerns.

On the other hand, sleep terrors happen early in the night, and unlike nightmares, kids have no memory of the event. 😵‍💫 They may scream, thrash, or appear awake, but it’s almost impossible to wake them.

Understanding the difference can help parents respond in the best way! 💙
