New Podcast!! Brain Stories - Insight, Love & LEAP With Dr. Amador

Many of you have read Dr. Amador's book "I am Not Sick, I Don't Need Help" which discusses the LEAP method for connecting with our loved ones who do not recognize their mental illness. Dr. Amador has a new podcast which we are very excited about!

Description: Mental illness is full of misconceptions. Brain Stories, a new documentary podcast, aims to dismantle those myths. Each episode tells the story of someone living with serious mental illness, and those who support them.

The first episode tells the story of Xavier Amador, who got a terrifying call from his brother that led to years of conflict. But what Xavier finally discovered brought his brother and him back together, and paved the way for millions to repair relationships ruptured by mental illness.

You can find the episode on Spotify, iHeart, Apple, or anywhere you get your podcasts.

We understand that mental health struggles can’t always wait. So, when you’re facing emotional challenges and need expert care, but can’t get an immediate appointment with your doctor, our new Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) here to bridge the gap.

The Guidance Center's BHUC provides specialized services for adults and children 6+ who need assistance with mental health and/or substance use.

Please note: BHUC does not prescribe medications or refills.

BHUC does not require insurance or an appointment. Simply walk in during our regular hours (Mon-Thurs 4-11pm and Friday 4-9pm) to Building 6 on our Southgate Campus (19291 Northline Road).

Call 734-785-7726 for more information.
