Team Spotlight: Erin & Caleb Donnelly 💙

For Erin and Caleb Donnelly, running the Boston Marathon is deeply personal - and rooted in purpose.

“The biggest reason to run for me is the kids; treating these kids has always been a tremendous privilege, but just to know them and love them during their time here and beyond is the greatest honor,” shares Erin, a physical therapist at Franciscan Children's.

“Without the Fran (and other facilities like it), I don't see how these children and their families find hope. So, I wanted to run the Boston Marathon for the Fran's team to keep supporting that vision of hope,” adds Caleb.

On Monday, members of the New England Patriots stopped by Franciscan Children’s to spread smiles, share laughs and bring some extra joy to our kids and staff. From teddy bears and high-fives to heartfelt conversations and words of encouragement, it was a visit full of warmth, gratitude and perspective.

We’re so thankful for the time, kindness and care they shared with our patients and team. Moments like these remind us how powerful it is to simply show up for one another.

After six long months, Myles is going home. 💚

Born at just 27 weeks, Myles spent his first months in hospitals, with the final six weeks of his journey at Franciscan Children’s, where his parents received hands-on training to prepare for life at home with a medically complex infant.

From learning trach, ventilator, and feeding tube care to completing a 48-hour in-house stay, Myles’ parents showed incredible strength and dedication every step of the way. Just in time for Christmas, they’re heading home - ready for cuddles, Christmas movies and celebrating together as a family.

We’re honored to have been part of this final chapter of Myles’ inpatient journey and wish his family a holiday season filled with joy and many firsts at home.
