Pielhop Funeral Homes

Pielhop Funeral Homes Two locally owned funeral homes ONLY in Brillion & Reedsville. Luecker Funeral Home was built in 1938 in Brillion. Luecker retired. Wieting, Sr. passed away.

For 18 years, the Luecker Family served the community until Fred L. The Wieting Funeral Home legacy began in 1953 when Merlin A. and Harvey Techman began operating the Techman-Wieting Funeral Home in Hilbert. In 1956, Merlin Sr. and Evelyn Wieting moved to Brillion and purchased the Luecker Funeral Home and Furniture Store from the Luecker Family, starting the original Wieting Funeral Home. In 1968, a building expansion project began, encompassing the Luecker Chapel built in 1938, to the funeral home it is today. In 1972, Wieting Funeral Home became Wieting Funeral Home, Inc. when Merlin "Fuzzy" Wieting, Jr. joined the family business. In 1985, the Reedsville Co-op Funeral Home was purchased by the Wieting's. Previously, the Co-op Funeral Home was opened in 1939. In 1945, the Cooperative bought Shimon Funeral Home and retained Edward Shimon as their funeral director. The funeral home building was retained until 1959 when the Co-op built the new funeral home on the same location as the previous building. In 1994, Merlin Sr. This lead to the corporation known as Wieting Funeral Home, Incorporated to be restructured into two separate corporations; Wieting Funeral Homes, Inc., owned by Merlin “Fuzzy” Wieting, Jr. and Wieting Funeral Home of Chilton. This now meant that in 1995, Fuzzy Wieting solely owned and operated both the Brillion and Reedsville funeral homes. In September of 2020, Jason & Sarah Pielhop purchased Wieting Funeral Home, Inc., its' assets and the properties from Fuzzy and Kathy Wieting. They will continue the legacy of care, compassion and support that the Wieting’s have shown for many decades to the communities as Pielhop Funeral Homes in Brillion and Reedsville and throughout Northeast, WI. When you choose Pielhop Funeral Homes, you are choosing 9 decades of locally owned and family owned funeral service.

5 years! Time truly flies!

5 years ago Jason & Sarah Pielhop purchased Wieting Funeral Homes from Fuzzy & Kathy Wieting.

They may have updated a few things, but their commitment to the local communities and compassionate care for the families they serve has not changed.

Jason & Sarah feel blessed to live and work here, working together every day, to offer all kinds of personalized funeral services from embalming to cremation.

Sarah and Jason want to thank everyone for accepting them and their family, and for allowing them to serve you.

The Transition Photo.

Thank you so much Fuzzy and Kathy for trusting us with this legacy to the communities we serve!

If you have visited our website lately, you may have noticed it looks slightly different.

Our previous website company was bought out by another website company. This happens more than you would think in the technology world.

We are very happy with this new company, and they offer more options for our funeral home to serve our families. But there are a few things we are still working out to create the best experience for you.

We still have the same website address: https://www.pielhop.com/

We just wanted to give an update.

Blessings,
Sarah & Jason Pielhop

Jason finishing more projects!

The Family Entrance area is now complete!

It used to be wood paneling and very dark.

About two years ago we opened this area up.

We had Eickert Home Improvements install new doors from Potter Building Supply and new windows.

We then had Superior Floor Covering level the entrance and install carpeting and vinyl flooring.

Jason then drywalled, painted, put on baseboards, and put crown molding up.

Now it is a clean, open space for when families come in the private family entrance for visitations.

What do you mean we can’t get this light from 1970 anymore?! So Sarah bought lights when she took the children to their dance classes this evening.

Oh, and who is going to install these lights at 10:30 at night? The people that own the business of course! 😂

We are very thankful that Jason is handy. It may have taken longer than an electrician would have, and we very much appreciate electricians for all they do, but in this case, it had to get it done quickly.

Oh, and while we are at it, why not install the new cabinet that Pete stained earlier today 😅?

We wanted to take a moment to introduce you one of our funeral directors, Abigail "Abbi" Kuether.

Abbi was born and raised in Kiel, graduating from Kiel High School.

Abbi and her husband Bryan were married in 2007. They have built their life together in the Kiel area, moving out into Manitowoc County in 2021. They have two children together that are active in sports and activities. When they aren't supporting their kids at events, they can be found doing activities outside together as a family, remodeling their old farmhouse, landscaping, having campfires, gardening, hiking, sports, or just relaxing.

Abbi went on to further her education at Milwaukee Area Technical College, graduating with a degree in Mortuary Science in 2009. She actually started working with Sarah in 2008 over in Manitowoc for her funeral director apprenticeship at Pfeffer Funeral Home when Sarah worked there. Abbi passed her boards and became a licensed Funeral Director, and she worked in Manitowoc until 2014 when an opportunity for her to return to her hometown became available.

Abbi worked as a licensed Funeral Director in Kiel until early 2024. She then took a step back from the full-time Funeral Director hours to have more availability to be there for her family while their children are still young. But she couldn’t stay away completely.

Abbi believes being a funeral director is a rewarding and helpful profession. She joined Pielhop Funeral Homes in Summer of 2024 and works part-time on some nights and weekends.

Abbi enjoys listening to the stories being told by the families she serves. These families have taught her so much about life and have influenced her in more ways than they will ever know.

We are very blessed Abbi decided to walk along with us and serve our communities.
