This February, we honor and celebrate Black History Month, a time to recognize the strength, resilience, creativity, and contributions of Black individuals and communities, past and present.

We also acknowledge the ongoing impact of systemic inequities and the importance of creating spaces that are affirming, inclusive, and grounded in respect. At Peaceful Mind, we are committed to supporting mental health care that centers dignity, representation, and belonging for all.

Celebrating Black history means listening, learning, and continuing the work, this month and always. 🖤💛💚

🎄💙 Giving Back This Holiday Season 💙🎄

This year, Peaceful Mind Behavioral Health & Wellness was honored to participate in a Holiday Gift Giving Program where we were able to purchase Christmas gifts for three local families in our community.

We believe in supporting our community not only through mental health care, but also through compassion, generosity, and connection, especially during the holiday season.

We also want to give a special shoutout and sincere thank you to two of our incredible therapists, who also work for the city and helped organize this entire program and assist with distributing all of the gifts. Their dedication, time, and heart made such a meaningful impact, and we’re so grateful for everything they do, both inside and outside the office. 💛

From all of us at Peaceful Mind, we hope everyone had a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season. 🩷

Our Southington office is one of those spaces that immediately feels calm the moment you walk in. From the natural light and cozy waiting area to our thoughtfully designed therapy rooms, every detail was chosen with comfort, safety, and grounding in mind.

We know that walking into therapy can feel intimidating, especially for the first time, and the environment matters more than people realize. This space was created to feel warm, welcoming, and human… not clinical or cold. A place where you can take a breath, settle in, and feel supported.

Whether you’re coming in for therapy, medication management, or ongoing care, our Southington office is here to support you in a space that honors your experience and your healing.

✨ Mental Health Tip from Nurse Katie ✨

One of the most powerful (and often overlooked) tools for supporting mental health is routine 💙

Routine helps create a sense of safety, reduces anxiety, supports mood regulation, and gives us structure on days when motivation feels low. It doesn’t have to be rigid or perfect, small, consistent habits can make a big difference over time.

Nurse Katie breaks down why routine matters for your mental health and how to start small in her latest article 👇

Sometimes healing isn’t about big changes, it’s about the daily patterns that help us feel grounded. 🌱

Life isn’t linear—and neither are the challenges we face. Erin Schopfer, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, offers a compassionate, judgment-free space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences with respect and care. Erin works with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationships, life transitions, trauma, sexual abuse, and family issues. Erin works with individuals, couples, and families, using a collaborative approach to help clients better understand the underlying factors contributing to their struggles. She integrates evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to empower clients to make the changes they desire and deserve.

A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, Erin is EMDR-trained and grounded in systemic therapy.
