🌿 Thinking About Starting OCD Treatment? Here's What to Expect. 🌿

Reaching out for help with OCD can feel overwhelming. You might be wondering, "Will I be judged for my thoughts?", “What will therapy actually be like?”, or “Can someone really help me?”

Warren, our OCD specialist, wants you to know that you're not alone, and you won’t be judged here. Treatment isn’t about “getting rid of thoughts”—it’s about learning to respond to your thoughts with kindness and nonjudgment.

✨ The gold standard treatment for OCD is called Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). It can be intimidating, but just know that when you work with Warren, it is always done at your pace with compassion and collaboration.

Here’s what working together looks like:

🧠 You’ll learn how OCD functions—and how your relationship to your thoughts may inadvertently be reinforcing obsessions or compulsions.
🧰 You’ll build tools to respond to anxiety in new, healthier ways.
🌊 You'll gradually practice facing the things OCD makes you fear, without doing the compulsions it seeks.
💬 You will have a space where you can talk openly—no fear or shame.
❤️ And through it all, you'll learn how to show yourself more kindness and patience.

📅 If you're ready to take the first step, we offer free 15-minute consultations. This gives you the opportunity to discuss goals and see if your therapist is a good fit. You can message us here, call 860-337-3375, or email Warren directly at wcorson@kindattention.org

You don’t have to do this alone—support is here when you’re ready.

Please welcome our new office manager, Caitlyn Renee Corson!

Caitlyn has over 12 years of experience in the healthcare field, ranging from in-home work with the elderly population to working with the Department of Developmental Services. Ultimately, she found her passion as a certified recovery crisis intervention specialist where she helped individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse needs.

Caitlyn's ability to serve all areas of Connecticut has led her to have a multitude of invaluable resources for her clients. Now, Caitlyn will channel her efforts to connect individuals in need of therapy with specialists for their specific needs.

We are thrilled to have Caitlyn join our team where she will be in charge of all administrative tasks, co-facilitating group therapy, and running sound healing/meditation groups. Currently, Caitlyn is hard at work getting our new office open, which is scheduled to officially open June 1, 2025.
