If you have an emergency during or after hours, please CALL and leave a detailed message. If I don’t return your call quickly, please call again and send a text that says emergency. A call from the same number a second time tells me to stop what I’m doing and check your message. An emergency is a condition that must be attended today. A text message alone is not a reliable way to reach me quickly, especially on the weekends as there are many, and I try not to look at them.
Emergency services are only available to current clients, those for whom I’ve done an exam on a patient within the preceding year. If I have examined your horse within the preceding year, I have committed to attending to your emergencies and WILL be there for you unless I’ve made arrangements with another veterinarian.
