We had a great trip visiting this past weekend. The weather was fantastic and student volunteers prepared so many fun activities that kept us busy all day!

River's Way provides 4 of these opportunities annually, and they are always a blast for our young adults with differing abilities and E&H students!

Our group had so much fun this past weekend performing on the .bristol stage! It's always amazing watching this entire group of young adults with differing abilities, staff, and volunteers encourage each other and work together to put on this annual production.

Thank you 🙏 to our fabulous audience members and supporters of all three performances, our community partners (.bristol and ), and everyone involved that made this weekend a success!

This production highlights the works of William Shakespeare as adapted by Dottie Havlik. It was created especially for the youth and young adults with differing abilities at River's Way.

“These River’s Way young adults and youth are so creative, and they’re so excited to be returning to the ARTspace stage,” said Havlik. “They’re learning true theatre lessons about taking directions, overcoming nervousness, and concentrating on a task. They have shown what they can do and they know how to entertain audiences.”

River’s Way, led by Executive Director Matt Kyle, is an organization dedicated to the positive and productive involvement of young people with disabilities in our community. ”We are very grateful to Theatre Bristol, and especially to Dottie Havlik, for providing us with an opportunity to participate in this community play,” said Kyle. “I cannot begin to describe the levels of excitement and anticipation that this play has generated for the students, graduates and staff of River’s Way. They are ready to go back on stage and earn some applause!”

Theatre Bristol and River’s Way thank the community for its support of this production, and people with differing abilities, and the arts. Working together to create live performance, we develop stories and memories that entertain and foster connections in our community among people of all abilities.

Tickets are $5 and will be available online and, pending available seating, at the door 30 minutes prior to showtime. Seating is general admission and for any special accommodations, please call or email the Theatre. Show information is also available online at www.TheatreBristol.org or by calling the message line at 423-212-3625.

Thank you so much to the students involved with the Tennessee High School Anchor Club that selected River's Way as the organization to raise funds for this Spring! Together, they raised $4,000 that will directly benefit youth and young adults in our programs.

Anchor Club raised $4,000 for Rivers Way, a local charity here in Bristol! The girls' fundraising efforts will be used to provide opportunities for youth and young adults with disabilities to make a positive impact in their Bristol community.

"To be, or not to be, that is the question."
"Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?"
"Double, double, toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble."
"Rumble thy bellyful! Spit, fire! Spout, rain!"

Recognize any of those famous quotes? They're from "Lessons from Shakespeare: How to Avoid a Personal Tragedy," by Dottie Havlik!

JK - Shakespeare wrote them!

Either way, don't miss this great show presented by River's Way and Theatre Bristol March 15 & 16! Reserve your tickets today at theatrebristol.org/tickets.

We had a fantastic weekend at Emory and Henry last month with our largest group ever attending this program at nearly 30 people! The student volunteers kept us entertained with so many awesome activities and events throughout the day. These programs wouldn't be possible without these students volunteering their time on a Saturday and planning all of our activities for the day. We laughed, smiled, and even shed some tears since we had a few graduates attending their last River's Way program. We're already looking forward to our Spring trip!
