🛷 Sledding Fun = Safe Fun! ❄️
Winter days are perfect for sledding—but a few safety reminders can help keep smiles big and injuries small!
✔️ Choose a hill free of trees, poles, roads, and icy patches
✔️ Always sled feet-first or sitting up—never head-first
✔️ Wear a helmet (bike or ski helmets work great!)
✔️ Dress warmly and don’t forget gloves & boots (and take breaks to warm up!)
✔️ Make sure kids walk up the side of the hill, not the middle
✔️ Never pull sleds behind any type of vehicle—including cars, ATVs, or snowmobiles
✔️ Adult supervision is key—especially for younger kids
A little preparation goes a long way toward a happy, healthy winter ❄️
Stay safe and have fun out there!

🚨 When Should Your Child Stay Home from School? 🚨

As we navigate flu season and other illnesses, it's essential to remember that keeping your child home when they're not feeling well helps prevent the spread of germs and supports their recovery. See below for some guidelines to help you determine when your child should stay home—and when it's safe to send them back to school:

💡 Reminder: If you're unsure whether your child should return to school, feel free to contact our office. We're happy to help guide you through the process to ensure your child’s health and the safety of their classmates!

🌟 Safe Screen Time Tips for Kids This Winter 🌟

As winter settles in and we spend more time indoors, screen time can quickly add up for kids. While it’s tempting to let them binge on TV shows or games, it's important to keep balance for their physical and mental well-being. Here are some tips for safe screen time this winter:

Set Clear Limits 🕒
Limit screen time to 1–2 hours per day for children 2-5 years old and no more than 2 hours for kids over 6. Break it up into smaller chunks if possible!

Screen-Free Zones 🚫📱
Create designated areas for screen-free activities like reading, drawing, or family time. Bedrooms and the dinner table are great spots for no screens!

Interactive Screen Time 🎮🖥️
Encourage apps or games that promote learning and physical activity. Try dance challenges or educational games that engage both mind and body.

Breaks are Key ⏸️
Remember to take breaks every 20-30 minutes. Encourage stretching, moving around, or playing a quick game in between screen sessions.

Be a Role Model 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
Kids learn by example! Make sure you're practicing healthy screen habits too.

This winter, let’s keep the balance between fun screen time and healthy outdoor play (or indoor activities if it's too cold outside!).
