Classic Coil Company located in Bristol, CT is a contract manufacturer specializing in the production of electronic magnetic coils in the medical, US military, aerospace, and industrial markets since 1973.
We are currently seeking an
Electro-Mechanical Engineer.
This position is responsible for insuring Manufacturing feasibility of Electromagnetic/Electromechanical production; primary product is Electromagnetic Coils.
Responsibilities include:
• Create manufacturing methods and other work instructions for floor operations
• Develop BOM and routing in ERP System
• Review technical documentation and determine project's feasibility/manufacturability using internally built tools, past projects and established manufacturing practices
• Build relationships with customers by clarifying technical details of projects, answering questions, steering them for more efficient and cost-effective manufacturing solutions
• Oversee tooling design (winding arbors, soldering and assembly fixtures, custom inspection gauges, forming tools, etc.) and verify SOLIDWORKS/CAD tooling drawings. Obtain tooling quotes.
• Process development and design
• Contact vendors to obtain material quotes
• Design/assemble Test fixtures to facilitate production QC testing
• Project management experience
• Support RMAs via root cause analysis techniques and often necessary destructive testing
• Support corrective action and update all affected documentation to reflect the process change
• Provide information and support as part of the Manufacturing Team
• Provide information and support to the Sales and Customer Service Team
• Other duties as required
Education/Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing
Experience/Qualifications:
• Ability to work with basic electronic instruments: multimeter, oscilloscope, wave form generator and power supply
• Competent written and oral communication skills
• Must be a team player, self-motivated, dependable and dedicated
• Ability to manage one’s own time and the time of others
• Ability to use “critical thinking” in solving problems
• Troubleshoot equipment issues to support production
• Computer/IT experience a plus
