We ended National Skilled Nursing Care Week last week with Neon Day! It was such a fun week that staff needed some energy to finish the week strong so we did an energy drink in the afternoon, as well as a mini pancake bar in the morning! Residents enjoyed a K-9 presentation by the Britt Police Department where they demonstrated how Axel follows commands and also utilizes his training to find drugs. They explained all the training Axel had to go through and he actually follows commands by his handler speaking French to him! It was very informative and neat to see! Thank you Britt PD for doing this! After the presentation residents enjoyed some “Mug Shots” and one on one time with Axel.

Thursday continued another fun day for celebrating National Skilled Nursing Care Week! Staff started the day off by enjoying a enjoying a donut from our Westview Donut Wall. In the afternoon, we had a 'Vintage Fashion Show' full of vintage dresses, uniforms, outfits, hats and so much more. It was very neat to see military outfits from residents' loved ones, while some also showed off their wedding dresses! We were able to see clothing from many different eras! A big 'thank you' to BrickStreat Theatre in Forest City for loaning us vintage outfits to share with everyone.

Celebration for National Skilled Nursing Care Week continued this past week with Wednesday as “Black Tie Affair” day, where we crowned our National Skilled Nursing Care Week King and Queen. Please help us congratulate Vicki Board and Jason Roberts on being selected as 2025’s King and Queen. Also, a big congratulations to all the residents who were on the court this year. We had a great time celebrating in style followed by some hor d’oeuvres and special treats donated by the Starboard Market in Clear Lake! Staff also enjoyed a black and white themed charcuterie table during the day.
