This past Saturday was Virtual Wellness event led by yours truly ☺️ did you catch it?! Here’s some BTS of me transforming my space back to “Mocha Massage” ready!⁣

I approached this invitation much differently than I would’ve 6 years ago. When I was initially asked to lead a “Wellness” event virtually, I instantly knew that the last thing I wanted to do was a hour long vinyasa style Yoga class (y’all are more than welcome to attend my (in person) hour long Yoga class that I teach every Sunday at Crunch though!)⁣
⁣
I wanted to stand firm & true to the fact that one’s overall wellness is NOT just the things that we do for ourselves physically. It’s usually just the quickest & most accessible to address first. But when do the other areas get addressed with our busy lives?
⁣
So we explored the 8 pillars of Wellness together. We took a deep dive into our wildest dreams and said them out loud! We discussed some of our passions that we let fall to the wayside-either due to just being busy, or due to motherhood and how we can get back to them. ⁣
⁣
We also moved-but with intention:⁣
⁣
Not to workout⁣
Not to sweat⁣
Not to “flow” even⁣
Just to feel alive in our bodies⁣

A truly nourishing mind, body, soul connection, all in the span of 1 hr⁣ 🤗

Yes, I’ve taken trainings before, but you can’t even mention the word “Brazilian” in front of that without taking the course from the source first (rightfully so!) ⁣

I just knew eventually I was going to take it. So like the determined individual I am-I hopped on a bus from Boston➡️New Jersey & back on the Saturday before this major blizzard we’re experiencing now 😅 ⁣

Lymphatic Massage has always been a weakness for me in my current offerings. I typically operate my best in the polar opposite of things (deep tissue queen👸🏾🙋🏾‍♀️hello?!) But when done right, I have seen it produce some amazing results in real time, and the Brazilian method surely produces that 😍 ⁣

⁣
With that being said, I will be needing some practice models!!!!!! Looking for 3-5 people who want to experience the difference, while I get to perfect this craft! ⁣(all for free!)

MWC’s 2025 was pretty ordinary 🤣 I’ll admit that all I did was work and when I look back I realized that I hit next to none of the goals set out for the center this year 🤷🏾‍♀️ ⁣

Whether your year was transformational or it actually was a struggle, it’s still good to take some time to reflect back and take note upon areas of your life (or business) that need improvement. Do a honest assessment and not just one that sounds good for the gram!⁣
⁣
As far as 2026:⁣
This upcoming year feels like going into an era of ease and balancing out the grind. Hours will be adjusted slightly, meaningful connections will be made, and goals that have been collecting dust will be brought to light because it is a disservice not to strive for everything Mocha Wellness is destined to be! ⁣

Get you a Massage Therapist you can truly be yourself around! 🤣😭💆🏾‍♀️ No, but in all seriousness, this picture may seem funny at first, but it symbolizes something much larger=representation! ⁣

I remember when I was still a loose natural wearing different protective styles, weaves, or wigs and feeling so self conscious going to Massage appointments. Instead of fully relaxing I was preoccupied with thoughts like:⁣

“I hope they don’t mess up my hair”⁣
“Are their fingers gonna get caught in between the wefts?”⁣
“Should I tell them I have a wig on so they don’t pull it off by accident?” ⁣
⁣
Usually what would end up happening is I would tell them they can just skip massaging my head completely 🤷🏾‍♀️. ⁣

The fact that someone instantly felt comfortable enough to come into my space, let their guard down and even hang up their wig all on their own makes me feel like who I naturally am and what I’m doing truly makes a difference! ⁣

In honor of women’s month we honor Sharlene Paul, the CEO/Founder of Mocha Wellness Center-a one stop shop for all your Wellness needs. Sharlene is a Certified Yoga Instructor (Open Doors, 200 hrs), and a Licensed Massage Therapist (Spa Tech Institute, 650 hrs). She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Social Work from Bridgewater State University (2012), and has worked for the Massachusetts Dept of Corrections for 13 years. When she’s not teaching Yoga Sculpt at Crunch Fitness gym, or servicing her Massage Clients at her shop, Sharlene spends her time constantly learning and evolving her craft within the Health & Wellness industry as evidenced by the addition of many other certifications (Stretch Therapy, Lymphatic Massage, Trauma Informed Yoga, Medical Massage, Body Contouring etc), conferences, partnerships and more!
