🌟📖 Key Themes of Kai’s Superpower 🗣️🫶🏼

💫1. Celebrating Every Voice — Highlights that all modes of communication are valid and powerful, not just speaking.

💫2. Communication as a Superpower — Kai’s “superpower” is how he expresses himself and connects with others, even when he doesn’t speak verbally.

💫3. Empowerment & Self-Expression — Encourages readers to feel confident using their own voice and communication style.

💫4. Autism Awareness & Acceptance — Shows readers what it feels like to communicate differently and why acceptance matters.

💫5. Seeing Strength in Differences — Teaches that everyone has unique abilities — and differences are part of what makes us strong.

💫6. Building Confidence — Kai learns that his ways of communicating are important and worthy of being heard.

💫7. Respectful Inclusion — Reinforces that everyone should be included and respected, no matter how they communicate.

💫8. Understanding & Compassion — Helps readers develop empathy for people with diverse communication needs.

💫9. Connection Beyond Words — Demonstrates that connection doesn’t always require spoken language — it can come through actions, tools, and understanding.

👜✨ Why the Bag Game App Is a Game-Changer for Speech Therapy! ✨👜

Looking for a fun, engaging way to target speech and language skills? Bag Game is one of our FAVORITE apps in therapy — and here’s why:

🗣️ Boosts Expressive & Receptive Language
- Students must describe, identify, and recall items — perfect for building vocabulary and sentence structure.

🧠 Targets Executive Functioning
- Remembering items in the “bag” fosters working memory, sequencing, and attention skills.

🎯 Highly motivating & playful
- Students LOVE the interactive, game-like format — increasing engagement and practice time!

💡 Customizable for All Ages & Goals
- Use it for articulation practice, following directions, describing attributes, categorization, and more!

🎯 High Repetition of Target Sounds
- You can preload or select items that contain a student’s target phoneme (initial, medial, or final), allowing for multiple productions in a fun, natural way.

🧠 Carrier Phrases Encourage Structured Practice
- Phrases like “I put ___ in the bag,” “I found ___,” or “What’s missing is ___” provide consistent sentence frames to practice sounds at the word, phrase, and sentence level.

🔁 Supports Drill + Play
- SLPs can easily pause the game to cue correct placement, slow rate, or have the child repeat a word several times — then jump right back into play for motivation.

👂 Auditory Discrimination & Self-Monitoring
- You can contrast correct vs. incorrect productions, have students judge their own speech, or repeat after a model — strengthening phonological awareness.

🧩 Works Across Multiple Sound Positions
- The same word can be practiced in isolation, then embedded into phrases and short narratives during recall portions of the game.

🎉 Increased Engagement = More Productions
- Because students are focused on the game, they often produce more trials without realizing they’re “working” — a win for articulation carryover!

🗂️ Great for Teletherapy & In-Person Sessions
- Clean layout and intuitive play make it perfect across service delivery models.

🌟 Makes Learning Feel Like Play!
- When students are enjoying themselves, they try harder, speak more, and generalize skills faster!

💡 SLP Tip:

- Before starting, choose 5–10 target words with the student’s sound. Track productions quickly with tallies while playing to ensure high-dose practice.

💬 Try it today in your next session and see the difference! 🗣️📲

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not Your Average Joe is truly not your average coffee shop — it’s a place that sees people. 💛

I had the absolute honor of being featured by their team, and from the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed and valued. They took the time to learn about who I am, the work I do in speech therapy with Tulsa Public Schools, my journey as an author, and my life as a mom. That kind of care and connection is rare and so meaningful. 🫶🏼

The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and full of heart — and let me just say, the coffee was amazing ☕️ (It really is a wonderful life 🤗).

If you’re looking for more than just great coffee — a place rooted in kindness, community, and authenticity — this is it. I’m so grateful for this experience and can’t wait to be back. Highly recommend! 🌟
