Kenn D shared his story after days of severe pain and multiple ER visits without clear answers:

“The boiling point happened on a Friday night, I told my wife that I needed to go to the ER. The pain was throughout my lower back on the right side, I thought it was internal, maybe appendix. ER sent me home with a misdiagnosis of kidney stones, I suffered until noon on Monday & called EMSA for a second ER visit. They said there was no kidney stone. A friend referred me to Active Life & I had an appointment scheduled for the next day, called from the ER room. It was the worst pain I ever had and relief began during the 1st appointment. Thank you, Dr. Gunther & team at Active Life!”

8 years in, and I’m celebrating my work anniversary by reflecting on how much transformation can happen when support, purpose, and self-love align.

Serving my community has been an honor, and working in a healthy, supportive environment allowed me to truly invest in my own well-being. A 100 lb weight loss — maintained for the past few years — is something I’m incredibly proud of.

Outside of work, I’ve learned the importance of balance — spending quality time with friends and family, staying active through tennis, pickleball, hiking, and long walks with my dogs, slowing down to observe nature, explore museums, and mindfully prepare meals that nourish me throughout the week.

If you’re struggling to prioritize your health, I understand. Start where you are. Your journey matters too.

Grateful for the past 8 years and excited for what’s ahead. ✨
