THE FULL MOON PHENOMENON 🌕

Old people say that the full moon might have some magical influence on pregnancy. 🤰🌊🌙

Some say it could trigger labor if you’re nearing your due date! 😯

Apparently they believe that the gravitational pull of the moon can move ocean tides and in turn play a part in your amniotic fluid too.🌊👶✨

Do you believe? Because, I do!!

It was too cute not to share 🤍

“Thankful for every last ounce, including this last 1.5 oz.

I’ve never been able to just nurse. I’ve tried supplements, meds, and so many other things to try and help my supply. Ultimately I’ve always just done whatever was best for me and my babies. My kids have nursed and been bottle fed with pumped milk and formula.

Last night marked the end of this little chapter of my mom life story. This is the last bag going into the freezer for our youngest.

You’re happy and healthy, and so is mommy.”

💜October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month💜

As a Midwife, I witness the strength and vulnerability of expectant mothers every day. Pregnancy can be an incredible journey, but it can also be a time when we encounter unique challenges. It’s important to acknowledge that sadly some of these challenges may involve domestic violence.

Domestic violence during pregnancy is a pressing issue that affects too many women. It’s heartbreaking, but we can make a difference by raising awareness and offering support.

In the midst of life’s most beautiful moments, we must prioritize safety and well-being. Join me this month in spreading awareness and fostering a community of love, strength, and support. Together, we can make a change. 💫

🌟 From Labor & Delivery Nurse to Midwife: Embracing a Calling 🌟

As Midwifery Week draws to a close, I'm reflecting on a journey that feels like destiny. Eight years as a Labor & Delivery Nurse laid the foundation, but Midwifery? It wasn't a choice; it was a calling, and it's become my life's purpose. 🤰👩‍⚕️

🌠 464 Beautiful Beginnings and 4 Angels 🤍: Each of those numbers represents a precious life I’ve had the privilege of welcoming into this world. These moments are not just statistics; they are stories of love, strength, and hope. Some journeys brought tears instead of cries of joy, but those too, are etched in my heart.

💖 A Path of Nurture: Midwifery isn't just about catching babies; it's about nurturing dreams, empowering parents, and being a guiding light through one of life's most transformative journeys. It's about honoring the innate strength within us all.

🌎 Celebrating Diversity: I've had the joy of working with families from all walks of life, and I'm continually amazed by the tapestry of humanity. Midwifery celebrates this diversity, reminding us that unity is born from our shared experiences.

📚 A Lifelong Journey of Learning: The world of Midwifery is a vast ocean of knowledge, and I'm forever a student. It keeps me humble, curious, and passionately dedicated to honing my skills for the families I serve.

🙏 Grateful for the Calling: I didn't choose Midwifery; it chose me. And for that, I'm profoundly grateful. To my fellow Midwives, Nurses- my work moms, nurse preceptors , and everyone who's been part of this incredible voyage, thank you for your unwavering support.

Together, we bring new life into the world, nurturing dreams, and celebrating the beauty of human connection. As Midwifery Week concludes, I am filled with immense gratitude for the path that chose me, and I can't wait to embrace the countless stories yet to be written. 🌟💕

🌟 Patient Safety & Survivor Support 🌟

In light of these recent events, it’s crucial to emphasize the significance of patient safety and standing with survivors of misconduct.

Every person deserves respectful and compassionate healthcare. Here’s how we can make a difference:

1️⃣ Speak Up: If you or someone you know has experienced misconduct by a healthcare professional, don’t hesitate to report it to the appropriate authorities. Your voice matters. 🗣️

2️⃣ Support Survivors: Let’s offer unwavering support and empathy to survivors. They are brave for sharing their stories, and they deserve our compassion. 🫂

3️⃣ Demand Accountability: Advocate for transparency and accountability in healthcare institutions. We all play a role in ensuring safer environments. 🗣️

4️⃣ Spread Awareness: Share this post to raise awareness about the importance of patient safety and supporting survivors. Together, we can create change.🗣️

Let’s work together to foster a healthcare system built on trust, respect, and safety for all. 💚

🌟Haley (midwifery student) and I share a special story.

The room where I had my very first birth with Odessa is the very same room Haley had a first catch with ME!! 🙂

There’s so much that made that birth special…
1️⃣ Haley stayed past her shift to catch this baby, she was caring for the patient all day and opted to stay. This shows dedication.

2️⃣ The birth was is Labor Room 1- this shows the beginning of her journey.

3️⃣ I had the opportunity of guiding her through this birth- this gave me the opportunity to teach her to how to grow in her calling.

🙏🏾Hope you continue to persevere and maybe we shall work together in the future. You are an amazing woman and will make a great Midwife. 🙌🏾

🌎 Look out world, Midwife Haley is coming!!👩‍⚕️

Not sure who this girl is, but I saw her at my little cousin’s graduation and her cap says “Future L&D Nurse.”

If she ever sees this I want her to know that she has a ton of supporters out here.

Hope to see you at a birth soon 🫶🏾

Jacobi got me in a chokehold for thirteen years!🎶
(Sing to Kanye’s Gold Digger)

From greens, to greys to burgundies 💚🩶❤️
I’ve literally gone through 3 scrub colors!! 🤣

Started this job in 2010, 50 days shy of my 26th birthday, the youngest nurse on the unit. 👩🏾‍⚕️
Three scrub colors and four degrees later, I am still here. 👩‍🎓

This career has been and continues to be a divine calling from the Most High who has blessed me with “hands of a lady, eyes of a hawk, and the heart of a lion.” 🙌🏾 🦅 🦁

Thirteen years later, I plan to continue serving birthing people of The Bronx and Beyond. I will always be fascinated with the beauty of childbirth. 👶

This is me 🗣️
