Congratulations to our July employee spotlight of the month, Melissa Gilchrist!

Melissa has worked in the dietary department here at George Ade for ten years. She has been married to her husband for 37 years and has 11 children and 13 grandchildren. Melissa’s favorite restaurant to eat at is the Golden Corral. Her favorite food to eat is watermelon and her favorite thing to drink is strawberry lemonade. When she is not working, she enjoys sewing, gardening, and cake decorating. She really enjoys working with all her coworkers in the kitchen and other coworkers in other departments as well. Her greatest accomplishment is raising her eleven children and if she is having a bad day, hearing children laugh cheers her up. Melissa is very involved with her church, and her faith is incredibly important to her. Melissa and her church are always one of the first to volunteer to make baked goods for personnel committee bake sales that benefit our employees and always plan on having the kids come out to George Ade to sing for the residents at Christmas time. She is always willing to come in and help in the kitchen when extra help is needed and picks up shifts, even if it’s last minute. She is a dependable employee and is always kind to our residents when she passes them in the hallway. The best advice Melissa has ever received is to make sure you know Jesus as your Savior. Thank you for everything you do here at George Ade, Melissa! We are lucky and blessed to have you!

Congratulations to our June Employee Spotlight of the Month, Susan Wiltfang!

Susan has worked as a nurse here at George Ade off and on since 1984 when George Ade was a hospital and then-turned long-term care center. She has three daughters, four granddaughters, and three grandsons whom she loves very much. She loves reading to her grandkids and being outside with them hanging by the pool and fishing. Her favorite food is seafood, and you will always see her with tea or a fountain diet coke to drink.
Susan’s family is the most important thing in her life and her greatest accomplishment. Every day when the residents are smiling and having a good time is her favorite thing about working at George Ade but if she has had a bad day, getting outside and working in her garden cheers her up, as well as hanging out with her grandkids. Susan goes above and beyond each day she is working for our residents and co-workers. Even on her days off she volunteers her time to help with special outings and bringing her grandkids out to play games. The most courageous thing Susan has ever done is being a hospice nurse and she not only does the work but has the heart and compassion that the nursing profession takes. She loves helping people and making a difference in their everyday lives. The best advice she has ever received is that actions speak louder than words and Susan’s actions speak multitudes in the best way.
Thank you for everything you do, Susan! We are lucky and blessed to have you at George Ade!
