Isn't this just the sweetest? On a public street corner on my block. But the backstory is even sweeter... 💜

These two stumps were left in 2019 by a Public Works tree trimming. Plain and a bit of an eye sore.

One day during the pandemic lockdown (remember that?!?) this gnome home magically appeared. It became the talk of the neighborhood, and extra fun because no one knew who created it.

It started as just one stump with a few cute windows and doors. Then over the next weeks, more mysterious developments:

Critters
Gnomes
Decor and embellishments
Annex: stump #2 added
Suspension bridge
Bird houses
Flowers being planted
Weeding being done

Passersby added to the creation, all anonymously, and with no one organizing it. It just happened!

I later caught my neighbor in the act of building on to the gnome home! So part of the mystery solved. 😍

It was a beacon of light in the midst of the craziness of the pandemic. It brought neighbors together. Four years later, I just saw a child on a bike heading that way yelling "The Fairy Garden!" 💜

In a world that seems crazy at times, this creative bit of sweetness MULTIPLIED through the sweetness that is in all of us.

My wish: MORE.OF.THIS. 😍💜
