Today we’re celebrating Jill—the lady who helps everyone have Better Days Monday through Friday (see what we did there? 😉). For the past five years, Jill has poured her heart, energy, and unwavering dedication into making our program the best it can be.

As the administrator, Jill does far more than keep things running smoothly—she leads with compassion, strength, and a deep commitment to the individuals and staff she supports. Whether she’s solving a challenge, encouraging a team member, or making sure every detail is just right, Jill shows up with purpose and heart.

Here’s to five amazing years—and many more to come! 💛🌟

Better late than never!

We want to give a heartfelt thank you to Linn County Sheriff Carrie Melte, (Linn County Missouri Sheriff's Office) for taking time out of her day to spread kindness and make a lasting impact. A special shoutout to Kirk (Better Days Bus Driver) and his spouse, Renelda Billingsley, for helping make this moment possible!

This act of kindness was such a blessing—not only for Alicia, but for everyone at Better Days who got to hear about it and witness her smile from ear to ear for days afterward. Moments like these remind us how powerful compassion can be. 💙

Don't worry about us, we've been staying busy this fall. From the Chiefs training camp, the Mexico (MO) apple orchard, the Brookfield pumpkin patch, the Disney Museum, the Kansas City Zoo, Arrow Rock, bowling, and so many birthdays!! This year isn't over though, we are gearing up for all of the holiday festivities.

Don't forgot to stop by the Walsworth Community Center tomorrow for our Holiday Mart/Disney fundraiser. We'll be there all day!

Wellness Wednesday: The last of the garden vegetables are being consumed! We like them roasted, grilled, or made into sauce and always pair them with a side of exercise :). The Blackstone grill has been a big hit this season and makes for easy clean-up.

Thank you to Erin from the Linn County Health Department. She gave us some great education on portion control and healthy eating. We are excited to apply the knowledge to our snacks and meals going forward.

Wellness Wednesday. Protein, garden veggies, and sunshine have been on the menu this summer. Proteins can provide your body with energy, gardening can boost your mental health by providing a sense of purpose and accomplishment, and Vitamin D can help regulate your immune system along with many other functions of the body!
