I may be a health coach now, but that wasn’t always the case. In fact, if someone had told me 10 years ago I’d be interested in nutrition and making a living helping people lose weight and keep it off, I would have laughed. I mean, I was the girl who ate pizza, fried chicken, pasta and anything I wanted when my kids were growing up. Exercise? Me? Sweat? Too much work! It was hard enough just tryin

g to keep three small humans alive, much less trying to eat healthy for myself, too. Especially when I didn’t have that experience growing up. We were the family who ate second and third helpings, didn’t count calories, and drank soda instead of water. Nobody ever told me I was supposed to eat food that is healthy and nourishing. I had no idea how to eat well, or even where to start! So what the heck happened to turn my nutrition train wreck into success? I got sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I tried many weight loss programs, lost and regained countless pounds, and even came to like exercise; but I still didn’t really know what I was doing. I started Tae Kwon Do with my kids and got into really good shape, but was still the self-titled “big girl.” I was doing everything the TV ads, mainstream news articles, and government sponsored nutrition pyramid told me to do, yet I was still overweight. I finally had enough! I decided to take charge of my own life and health, found a free tracking website, and started working out at least a little bit every day. The weight finally started coming off! People started asking me how I did it and I tried to direct them to that free website, but they always had some excuse about why they couldn’t use it: too much information, too many ads, too much work, etc. I decided that if people wouldn’t take advantage of a free website and help themselves, then I would go to school, learn how to help people lose weight, and make a living at my new passion. I wanted to help those who were like the old me, fat, tired, overwhelmed and clueless, with nowhere to turn for help.Chris Kramer Coaching

Fiber is an essential nutrient necessary for a healthy digestive system and overall well-being. It helps regulate bowel movements, lower cholesterol levels, control blood sugar levels, and maintain a healthy weight.

Here are some of the top high-fiber foods to include in your diet:

Legumes: Beans, lentils, and peas are excellent sources of fiber, with up to 15 grams of fiber per cup.

Whole Grains: Whole grains, such as oatmeal, brown rice, quinoa, and whole-wheat bread, are also high in fiber, with 3-8 grams of fiber per serving.

Stress and Anxiety: Stress and anxiety can make it hard to fall asleep and stay asleep. Try relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or meditation to calm your mind before bed.

Poor Sleep Environment: Your sleep environment can significantly impact your ability to sleep well. Make sure your bedroom is cool, dark, and quiet. Invest in comfortable bedding and a supportive mattress.

Technology Use: Blue light from screens can disrupt your body's natural sleep-wake cycle. Avoid using electronic devices before bed or use blue light-blocking glasses.
