Baby got GERD? Read this before jumping to medications. ⤵️⤵️⤵️
Gastroesophageal reflux is a common diagnosis in infants. Parents report inconsolable crying, poor sleep, spitting up, fussing at the breast, and more.
And when they get this diagnosis from their pediatricians, they’re often offered medications called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), such as Prilosec and Prevacid, to combat the symptoms.
They’re also told that untreated GERD can lead to permanent damage (chronically “burned” mucus membranes as well as anemia).
But often times parents are hesitant to give their child medications, and many find that they don’t even work. So what should a concerned mom and dad do?
Talk to a pediatric chiropractor!
Craniosacral therapy uses acupressure, massage, light traction, and activator adjustments to realign the cranial bones, which can help alleviate symptoms of GERD. There is no twisting or “popping” of the spine.
