Last week, we celebrated John and Maryann Friend on their 65th Wedding Anniversary at Belhaven Center!

Their love story began in 1959, when John, stationed at the West Hampton Air Force Base, walked into a little ice cream parlor in Laurel, Long Island, and met Maryann. With a bit of help from her sister, John got Maryann’s number, and the rest is history. They married in 1960, built a life together in Patchogue, and were blessed with two daughters. Today, they are proud grandparents of four grandsons and one great-grandchild.

From sharing sweet moments to cutting cake hand-in-hand, their bond is as strong as ever. 💕

Bellhaven residents recently explored their artistic side through an adult art education course inspired by Van Gogh’s iconic sunflowers. 🌻✨

The program included both study and hands-on practice, allowing participants to create their own unique sunflower artworks. Over the course of two weeks, 29 residents proudly submitted their pieces to be featured in a special exhibit — each one a true reflection of talent, creativity, and joy.

What a day to remember! 🌻✨ Over 100 residents, families, and friends came together to soak up the sunshine, share laughter, and celebrate life with music, food, and plenty of sunflower spirit. From sweet corn to sweet memories, the festival was overflowing with warmth and connection.

Seeing the courtyard filled with smiles reminded us that joy grows best when shared. 💛
