Just a reminder to clear at least 3’ in all directions around any fire hydrants that have snow around them.

Seconds matter when it comes to needing and getting to a fire hydrant in an emergency.

Crews were out today shoveling around some hydrants that needed clearing.

Congratulations, Chief Micun!

It’s been a pleasure to work alongside you for so many years at Crozer and continuing with VMSC. We’ll miss having you in the area and seeing you on scenes.

Good luck in Goshen, they’re lucky to have you.

Chief Micun served as a Paramedic Supervisor and Assistant Chief at Crozer Chester Hospital prior to its closure, and later became a Shift Supervisor with VMSC when they assumed EMS responsibilities for the City of Chester and surrounding communities.

Congratulations on your retirement from the City of Chester and Delaware County, and good luck in your new capacity along with our brothers at Goshen Professional Firefighters Local 4752.

Thank you to the Cumberland Valley Volunteer Firefighters Association(CVVFA) and Emergency Responder Safety Institute for spending the weekend at our firehouse and sharing truly worthwhile, timely information that benefits so many of us across the fire service locally, regionally, and nationwide.

The training and discussions on EV fire response, Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Week, ResponderSafety, and the ResponderSafety Learning Network (RSLN) were informative, practical, and directly applicable to the challenges we’re facing in today’s fire service. These are the kinds of conversations and resources that move our profession forward and help keep responders safer on every call.

We appreciate CVVFA’s continued leadership and commitment to expanding access to high-quality training and collaboration, now serving over 191,000 responders across multiple states. Thank you for choosing Brookhaven to be part of that mission, and for investing your time and expertise in our members.

Looking forward to continued partnership and future opportunities to train, learn, and grow together. 🚒

Good morning from the CVVFA meeting in Brookhaven, PA.
