To the Physicians, Nurses, & Healthcare (Clinical and NonClincal Leaders) in my community:
I was recently interviewed on a podcast about the contributors to burnout and the workforce shortages due to mass exit that we are seeing in healthcare. One theme that continued to emerge was psychological safety. When people do not feel seen, heard, respected, valued and welcomed they don't stay.
That is why I am passionate about the work I do, and why I am leading a training hosted by Maryland Healthcare Education Institute on Psychological Safety
The training is this Thursday, September 12th 10-11:30 am EST, and here's what I'll cover.
- What Psychological Safety is and why it's important... no imperative to prioritize in the healthcare space
- What are the specific characteristics and elements that contribute to and take away psychological safety
- How does building trust create safety, and what actions build and take away trust
- What are specific actions individuals can take to build safety w/colleagues and patients
- What measures can organizations begin to take to build trust and safety in the organizations
It is not too late to join, so if this topic is of interest to you, your leadership, or your organization, I invite you to jump and share with the leaders of your organization as well.
